That's cool how they came up with the new beak design by combining two styles.

Aw, I'm jealous that you got to go that that event, looks so much like fun. Commenting on Gadget's Go Coaster, funny enough, when I went to Toontown during my Disneyland trip as a kid, I freaked out because I thought that the Disney Afternoon shows were almost completely forgotten, not including Toon Disney replaying these shows. I was the only person I knew who adored these shows so when I saw the name of the coaster, I freaked out claiming it was from "Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers" just because of the title. I was 11 at the time, it was in December of 2002, weird to think it was so long ago & it already was old. Most kids I knew growing up were at least a year younger than me, usually more than that being born in September & held back a year in school so having friends who knew these shows just wasn't a thing. It wasn't until 2010 when I fell into a Darkwing Duck obsession & joined an online forum when I discovered I wasn't the only one who still loves those shows & I was one of the youngest people there so it was definitely a change of pace for me, it was pretty neat being the young one for a change. It's so cool that you got to go to this event, I haven't got to do anything cool like that but being apart of the forum did open up options that left me with some lasting memories such as the days when we use to do Darkwing Duck livestreams, one of the times James Silvani was invited, this was back when the 2010 Darkwing Duck comic book series was still kind of new, he invited Aaron Sparrow & Tad Stones to join us so we got to watch Darkwing Duck with James Silvani, Aaron Sparrow, & Tad Stones which was the coolest thing. There was a Q&A in the chat during this so it felt like partially a panel & partially just a general hangout. Oh yeah, we also watched the banned episode Hot Spells of which I actually had seen before since it wasn't too hard to find online but pretty awesome that I got to watch a banned episode of Darkwing Duck with Tad Stones. That was such an epic night that I won't soon forget. I saved the Q&A onto a flash drive but I think it went up on the Old Haunt somewhere. It's been years so I can't fully remember. What's happening right now with all of this revival of shows I adored growing up is great, I've got some of my old & new friends into these shows since I have a lot of them on DVD. I also discovered that a lot of people I met throughout the last five years thanks to a group I joined at meetup.com grew up with the Disney Afternoon so I was able to talk about these shows with them & all that. I actually held a gathering a few days after the premiere of Ducktales 2017 where we watched the pilot episodes to Ducktales & then the pilot to the 2017 series to celebrate. I had already seen the first episode of new series five times by that point but it's a lot more fun with friends.

That chat sounds awesome! I don't remember if I saw Hot Spells when it was on the Disney Afternoon or not! It's been so long!
@1991birthday7 жыл бұрын
If it's possible for you to find the episode, I recommend it. In it, Gosalyn sells Darkwing's soul to the devil. Yeah, gee, I wonder why it got banned. It aired too long ago for me to have seen & remember it but I was thankful to have found it years ago & then was able to see it again in a live stream. I wish it was possible to legally watch it, I always tell people to buy the DVDs, support the official release & they should still buy the DVDs that are available, please, do that now if you can afford it & don't have them yet but as for Hot Spells, it most likely will never see an official release. It's worth a watch even if you gotta dig a little online for it.

I hope DuckTales 2017 delves more into Scrooge's past and family like The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck did. Considering how we see the faces of Quackmore and Hortese in the reboot itself, I think we can expect something like that.

When DuckTales premiered in 1987, I was 21. I was so excited! My younger brother, who was about 5, watched the show with me. I started telling him all about Scrooge"s money bin, his Number One Dime, and about Carl Barks. Then, I decided to start reading Duck comics again! I still read superhero comics, but I've welcomed back the Ducks!

Donald and Gladstone DID grow up together. The Duck family revolves around Grandma Elvira Duck. I'm pretty sure all three of her children remained in Duckburg and raised their families there. After the falling out with Scrooge, Hortense would have dedicated herself wholly to the Duck family she married into. Meaning her kids would've grown up very close to their cousins. Poor Della must've felt like the odd one out; she was the only girl among the grandkids. No wonder she became so impulsive. She probably experienced middle child syndrome, along with a constant need to stand up for herself to the boys.

Ah, I should have been more clear -- it implied they grew up together like, in the same house.

I've never been to a D23 Expo before, but this sounded like a whole lot of fun. It really makes me wish I could've gone there for these shows. As for the Disney Afternoon, while I never actually saw the block itself, I definitely remember watching these shows through VHS tapes and Toon Disney reruns. Heck, I vaguely remember seeing that stage show at Disney World that featured some of the characters like Darkwing Duck and Goofy.

I loved how the new DuckTales made references to Cape Suzette, Spoonerville, and Saint Canard. I have always been saying it but The Disney Afternoon Shows are in the same Universe with Tailspin being set in the 1930s while DuckTales, Goof Troop, and Darkwing Duck are set in modern times. Shared Universes have been a big thing then in the past as they are now in the present and will be later in the future. You have Universal Studios with their monsters which they did back in the 30s, 40s, and 50s, Toho with their Godzilla films which brought in other monsters such as Mothra, Rodan, Varan, and more, DC Comics with their heroes, Marvel Comics with their heroes, Stephen King and his novels, Hasbro with G.I. Joe, Transformers, Inhumanoids, Jem, Visionaries, and MASK, and Capcom with Street Fighter, Final Fight, Darkstalkers, and Rival Schools.

I'll just simplify things for everyone, if that's okay: G.I. Joe, Transformers, Thundercats, He-Man! Yay! Those shows existed!

I tend to look at Gargoyles as the key divider for the Disney Afternoon shows I really loved and cared about. Not that I necessarily dislike the shows that came afterward (except for Quack Pack), I just thought what came before had more care and passion put into them. I still think it's amazing how they managed to create a fleshed out fantasy world complete with lore for a show about Gummi Bears. I swear, no show these days would have gone in the direction that show did based on a concept that absurd. Yeah, even though you mostly talked about DuckTales, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, and Darkwing Duck, I'm also including Adventures of the Gummi Bears, Goof Troop, Bonkers, and Gargoyles among the "good", or at least "most memorable" shows. ...Also, I'm still waiting for the Disney Afternoon Collection to come to the Switch.

What about Bonkers? I know not everyone liked that show, but it went really deep and dark sometimes. It was basically the TV series version of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. But as such, it's not really compatible with a combined universe of the other shows.

Actually Gladstone ISN'T Scrooge's nephew. Gladstone is Donald's cousin from Donald's father Quackmore's side of the family (Quackmore and Gladstone's mother were siblings) while Donald's mother Hortense is Scrooge's younger sister.

+Dracon seems to be turning out they way at the moment. Normally I'd be focusing more on getting stuff, but engadget had laid claim to all my stray gaming critique. I've added a playlist of those videos to my channel, however: m.kzbin.info/aero/PLE7WRWlalGnymTtnAZkRCORxrrKbpIkZH I've also done some videos with GameXplain recently, too: m.kzbin.info/aero/PLE7WRWlalGnxVkWO4ZbfbNjBSzTVh8TEQ ... If you were looking for Ghostbusters, that is on the back burner for a little while. Sorry man, KZbin is something I do on top of my full time job and family responsibilities, and when I do have time to work on it, I usually only can do whatever my recent obsession is (that doesn't conflict with my paid work).. and lately, that's been all Disney. All my recent vacations have been Disney related, most of my offtime has been Disney related, and the research I've been doing for recent videos is insidious, and continies to give me new ideas. Last time you mentioned the new trend, however, I think I invited you to tell me what it is that you liked about my channel in the first placed? What videos did you come to me for? Clearly you're not interested in the Disney stuff, so please let me know what does interest you. Constructive criticism tends to go farther than passive aggressiveness.
