I can't get over how they answered the companion question with ages. All they confirmed was that Taash is the youngest at early 20s and Emmrich is the oldest at early 50s. Everyone else is between 20 and 50 and that their age shows with combat and dialogue. .... What? 😂

Much better questions this time around, I’m glad they were willing to enter spoiler territory (with warnings) without outright giving away the narrative. Hearing Maevaris will be in the game is such a delight!

The choice of playing as a Dalish or City elf for factions was confusing for me. So, you can be either or both? The Answer given was: It is different in Northern Thedas. It won't come up at all if you are a Dalish or City elf, because it doesn't matter to the factions, and in Rivain, there are Dalish city elves. So it just comes down to aesthetics in the character creator if you want a Vallislin or not? However I also heard that Shadow Dragons were City Elves and Veil Jumpers were for Dalish Elves, or is that just pushed thematically? I know this may seem trivial, but as a roleplayer, who gives their characters fleshed out backstories this is important to me. Hopefully, everything will become clearer when we see footage of the character creator and the surnames that go along with them. Maybe we can even get a demo of it before the release *fingers crossed*.

Hmm not sure I like the "It's different in Northern Thedas". Is that an lore excuse for not having enough time to develop for both city elves and dalish? I thought they mentioned previously that we can RP our background thru dialogue but it's looking like that's not going to be the case? For Rivain, Dalish City Elves makes sense because Chantry is not a huge thing there, but for other places the Chantry views the Dalish as heretics as much as they do in the South, so I don't see why the North would be different. (Coming from someone who was planning to be a city elf lol) Sid note: Also I find it hard to believe that Veil Jumpers would include other races tbh since they're mostly Dalish and Dalish are established to hate at least humans, but I understand they may not want to limit player choices for backgrounds. It's still makes me go "hmmmmm not sure about that" tho.

​@@pandabers I agree! In the comics you do see humans in the veil jumpers but not many and there wasn't a Qunari or Dwarf in sight. Not that I can remember anyway. Some Races and classes and specializations just make more sense with different factions from a role-playing standpoint. I also agree The "It is different in Northern Thedas" thing only makes sense for Rivian. For casuals, all this doesn't matter. A lot of people will be playing Dragon Age for the first time with Veilguard. And unfortunately locking different races to different factions would probably not go over well with them. I personally would be okay with that because it would increase the replay factor. As for Dalish-hating humans, that isn't always true. It just depends on the clan. For example, clan Lavellan.
