Enjoyed the video Ben. I'm glad I don't do complicated approaches anymore. Do appreciate your effort. Thanks again.

Enjoying these videos Ben, probably because I won't have to do these sort of approaches ;-) That's one heck of a workload!

That was really interesting. I did the exact lesson last week in a Duchess. You do a lot of talking, reading out distances and next call etc.....I like it, I’m going to use that technique. 😊

Thanks Richard, I find it helps me stay ahead of the aircraft and keep a nice flow going.

Great video Ben . I found it very intensive viewing , so I can only imagine how it was for you actually doing the flying .Well done , and thanks for sharing .

Thanks David. There’s a lot to manage all at once along with trying to stay ahead of the aircraft and manage the profiles! I really enjoyed this trip!!

There’s a load more to come out! It is certainly quite a learning curve going into the IR!

Thanks for another great IR instructional video, I'm just a little behind you and so the timing is excellent. How stressful was the test?! Did you have any surprises on the day?

Hey Ben, I agree with the others here, very good video technically and easy to follow. As I also record voice and cam on flights sometimes I would be interested to know how you time sync the footage of all the cameras with the sound?

Loving your video's in the DA42...... I do always have a little chuckle when I watch IFR flights in the UK... Why does the blackpool controller give you a brand new squawk code? And if the arrival thru Blackpool is procedural why even bother with a transponder code? In the US a GA A/C on IFR will keep the same Squawk for the whole flight & is seamlessly handed from controller to controller.

Hello, during the lnav approach what power setting do you use 20% or 40%?

Fantastic video! I’m new to this, If flying VFR is there an exclusion zone around Warton airbase? For instance if flying 360° from Liverpool to Blackpool rwy 27 would you have to fly east of Warton before turning in to land at BLK?

Great video Ben. Can you let us know where you’re up to with the training? Understand you have a CPL MEIR now and ATPL theory? What’s still to do?

Hi Ben, great video! Makes me look forward to doing my IR training, just a quick question, have you tried foreflight? apparently its much better than skydemon for IFR flying and planning. Thanks, Ben!
@PlaneOldBen5 жыл бұрын
SkyDemon works well for IFR but not as the primary navigation source. I use the G1000 then SkyDemon to help with situational awareness.

Another enjoyable video. I guess it would be considered cheating to ask Mr.Garmin to tell you what the wind is doing when you were going to take up the hold? Although, I agree that a dose of common sense should be applied to the answer.

If you are doing an ILS DME Runway 28 and your DME is not working the approach should have been aborted due to inoperable equipment. DME required
