I’m so glad that Montana got to experience this reveal without getting spoiled. People were already speculating that Dabi was related to the Todoroki family by the time he appeared in the anime. When it was finally revealed in the manga it became the world’s worst kept secret.

I love the detail that Rei almost immediately noticed something with Toya when he appeared on her screen. Goes to show how much she still cared about him despite not handling things very well. Montana’s jaw drop was honestly super close to my own when this first happened. As for the situation, yeah it’s pretty messed up. As awful as Touya is here, he’s hard not to root for. Like Montana said, there’s a sense of cathartic-ness to it. Endeavor’s finally getting what’s coming to him. It’s just a shame that so much would have to go down with him. But for what it’s worth, Touya succeeded in his goal for the most part. He took “I’m about to end this man’s whole career” to another level.

This plot twist isn't terribly difficult to predict, but a lot of the best ones aren't. Sometimes a plot twist doesn't have to be unpredictable to be great, but it *needs* proper buildup, which this one definitely had. Dabi being a Todoroki is great because of the way everyone around him reacts to it, especially his family. Just the fact that he's alive will fundamentally change every single character in the Todoroki family, but also Dabi's burning need for revenge made him expose Endeavor's actions to the world, the actions of the current number one hero, the one everyone is supposed to look up to. As you can imagine, the general public's reaction to it is... Less than stellar.

I think it's also a little bit better in MHA because they have a habit of defying the 'obvious' twists. Like how Shoto was burned by his mother, not his father, or how a person with brainwashing was determined to be a hero, or a few of the other points to Dabi's backstory. It ended up meaning I was 90% certain Dabi was his brother before it was revealed (the eyes were a little too much to ignore) but not completely certain; I half expected it to be that Dabi had a quirk like Monoma's and was really wearing the brother's skin in order to tap into his powers, along with a tricky backstory as to how that developed. So even though it really was the obvious twist this time, I was even further invested.

it wasnt really much a plot twist, its was setup in season 2. in japanese culture, everyone addresses each other by their family names, given names are only used by very familiar people, you have to be fairly close to that person to address them by their given name, even deku doesnt address uraraka as ochaco, but asui does, and everyone in the season 3 final exam group addresses yaoyorozu as yao-momo because they went to her house and are fairly familiar with her now, which is why it was really weird that toya as dabi addressed todoroki as shoto at the camp and endeavor and enji at kyushu

Just when we as viewers are starting to empathize with Endeavor the same way the characters are, it's the perfect turnaround to have him confront the embodiment of his sins and his failure as a father by the reveal that Toya is still alive. I really appreciate that the story doesn't let him off the hook that easily, as we are still gonna be reminded of his awful actions later on in this season.

That's the thing. Was his abuse part of what made Toya into Dabi? Yes. But putting all the blame on Edvour is also foolish. As Shoto later says in season 7 "All of Edevour's kids were being abused but Dabi is the only one who deiced to burn people"

He wasn't saying that Toya shared any of the blame for what happened to him as a kid and for how he turned out, because that would be foolish. Toya is 100% valid for feeling the way he does. Issue is that he ended up becoming an awful person because of it. That doesn't make it not Endeavor's fault though.

AFO: No! Tomura, you must retreat! Tomura: I didn't hear no bell Little side note, in the manga, Toga never explains the big thing about Jin. Which is why Ochako is so confused. Because she's not exactly sure why she's talking to her. But she instantly regrets shutting her down once she sees that she was crying. And it pushes her to question why Toga was upset. Which is why the anime having Toga mention her reason for being upset last episode kinda takes away from Ochako's confusion and trying to understand Toga. Toga does love Ochako the same way she loves Stain and Izuku. So essentially, one of her crushes didn't get what she was trying to convey. Which has to suck. When this reveal happened in the manga, it actually out trended the literal US election. Dabi is built different. Also, it's really funny how Shigaraki gave that speech a few episodes ago about how heroes will destroy their families and Endeavor completely ignored him. Only for one of the biggest examples of him being selfish and destroying his own family to appear. Endeavor is trying to improve, yes. But that doesn't mean his past actions just go away. He added fuel to that poor boy's flames and then tossed him aside once he realized he wasn't the perfect child he wanted to create. And now, Touya will reduce everything to ash. Him and Skeptic pulled through with the tag team of the century.

When it comes to this reveal, I compare it to Reiner's reveal so much in how similar they both were in the moment, with Reiner and Dabi both sharing their identities so casually to the main characters initially, their twisted mental psyche's at the time, etc. And yet at the same time, they are done in completely opposite ways: Reiner's was done ACCIDENTALLY due to his split personality and a lack of a desire to live anymore. However, Dabi's was PURPOSEFUL due to the abuse that he suffered in that household for so long and wanting his father to live long enough to reap what he sowed. The parallels and differences are quite intriguing to think about.

Fun Fact, when this chapter came out, it out trended the mid-term election on Twitter. I kinda assumed Dabi was the missing Todoroki sibling. When he interacted with Shoto and Endeaor he called them by their full name, and I thought that was weird. Then there was a rising dead sibling I started to have a theory. I am looking forward for you to see the Todoroki family history. Izuku saved Shoto. There was so much destruction left behind due to Giantomachia. The effects is so scary and sad to see, but I like how it looks in the manga.

Bruh I know people praise Justin Briner (voice of Deku) and Christoper Sabat (voice of All Might) as do I they deserve the respect but with this episode imo Jason Liebrecht who is the voice of Touya AKA Dabi his performance in this was absolutely incredible and honestly kinda terrifying, this is a person who has been completely mentally broken and driven insane not only by how Endeavour raised him but also the horrific injuries and trauma he suffered from the fire in the woods, on that day Touya Todoroki died and Dabi was born and imo Jason delivered an award worthy performance in this episode and to me proves just how underrated the English Dub of Anime can be

This episode always made me feel bad for Shoto the most. With Toya's broadcast, he will be known by the public as the brother of a villain and the abused son of the number 1 hero. No matter how much he tries to make a name for himself, that will hang over him for the rest of his life. Endeavor deserved the consequences of it all but he just got caught in the crossfire. (Story of his life though, Shoto 'collateral damage' Todoroki.)

It has been an absolute delight to watch this react series. I really loved seeing not only Montana see the show for the first time, but also Kenny reacting to foreshadowing. Due to the update schedule of the manga, the fandom had a lot of time to overanalyze the foreshadowing, so the Dabi reveal wasn't super suprising to a lot of the fandom, so I thoroughly enjoyed seeing someone be completely blindsided by it haha. Dabi ended up being like his dad. He ended up overheating and obsessing over his dad and getting back at him just like Endeavor overheated and ended up obsessing over all might and becoming number 1. The crazy thing is that had Dabi kept his beef between him and endeavor just between them, I would've understand and agreed with it to an extent. But he started bringing other people into his affairs, killing others that nothing to do with it, and nearly got his brother killed just to hurt his dad. He's just a worse version of his own dad.

Dabi’s first introduction was watching the news report that talked about Endeavor defeating Stain & discussed Stain’s ideology (which was to kill “False Heroes” who were only in it for the fame/glory. Something I’m sure Dabi connected deeply to Endeavor given his less-than-heroic actions toward his family.) It’s nice to see the clues were there all the way from his first appearance.

Another important thing to note is that while Dabi was wrong about Best Jeanist being dead, he fully believed it was true, and everything he said in his viral video was true to the best of Dabi's knowledge at the time. Like he was fully telling the truth to the best of his ability and knowledge, and it was the heroes' deception that made Dabi wrong about Jeanist. Not saying Dabi is doing the right thing always of course, but I am so glad Endeavor is exposed and honestly the public is right to be upset given that Endeavor has been a top law enforcement officer in Japan for a long time, and all this abuse and neglect was going on while he was still being worshipped and paid by the public to be a hero

Honestly, it was REALLY well built up and satisfying. Twists don’t need to be unexpected to be good. In fact most unexpected twists are my least favorite twists because the build up isn’t there half the time. But the build up shows that Horikoshi trusts the intelligence of his readers and god it was so satisfying to see the joy everyone had when they were proven right

Honestly, a lot of people did assume that Dabi was a Todoroki right after he first uses his flames on Eraserhead in the forest. In season 2, they talk so much about "Endeavor kept having kids until one had the perfect power" and "Endeavor trains them too hard so they have crazy strength" that the second we saw a burned, fire using villain with spiky hair, we just said yeah that's probably one of his kids. The other giveaway was his eyes. So many characters have custom eyes and eye color and Endeavor's, Dabi's and Shoto's one eye are all light blue and have the thick black outline

Something IMPORTANT to realize when you listen to Toya's story. In ALL the scenes we actually SEE of Endeavor with young Toya, they're both happy, his wife is happy, and Fuyumi their daughter is clearly happy. ENDEAVOR'S words are backed by ANIMATED SCENES, but Toya's claims are NOT. Toya says Endeavor FORCED his mother to marry him, but that is NOT true. In the beginning Rei knew about Enji's desires in regards to quirks, but she also recognized for example how her passive comment of liking a particular flower stuck with him. Their marriage was not FORCED, it was ARRANGED. This isn't SUPER common nowadays, but it does still happen, and Rei would have been able to call it OFF. She didn't, and that indicates she liked Enji enough to go through with it. So the marriage was NOT forced like Toya said. Enji also said Rei WANTED Toya to have siblings, again Toya says he FORCED her to keep having children, but Enji says and supports with flashbacks that Rei wanted a larger family, the exact wording implies she wanted Toya and by extension her other children, to always have one another, which considering Toya's desire to become a hero is a pretty good thing. Him having a support structure in a large family would make hero work a lot easier to handle. Toya is also SUPER invested in becoming an awesome hero, like DEKU levels of invested. Enji recognized he lacked the perfect Quirk, but he trained Toya ANYWAY and believed even if he didn't have Rei's frost power, he could surpass All Might ANYWAY. We also see him happy and smiling, all of them a happy family, and importantly we see FUYUMI as a little girl seeing how good their lives are. And in the present day, SHE is the ONLY one that sees that they could go back to THAT, when things were awesome for everyone and they could be a big happy family. So she's drawing from this time. Personally I think while Enji was highly motivated by his ambition (Some would say the flames of ambition) I think the actual process of HAVING a family caused a change in him that cooled his flames down, and literally his first child which wasn't the goal he'd set out for himself, he was proud of him and loved him and wanted him to be the best he could be, and Toya was dead set on becoming a hero. I think actually becoming a father set Enji on the path of thinking his original goal didn't matter, raising his kids matters more, and even if his power isn't perfect, Toya could fly far higher than he ever could anyway. So objectively many of the things Dabi says aren't true, Enji also said internally that he looked desperately for Toya but couldn't find him, but we're still missing what happened between that little training session when they're all happy, and Toya burning alive on a mountain. What happens between those is important, and it's VERY important to not just blindly look at Endeavor and go "Yeah it's his fault, he's the only one to blame." Tunnel visioning Endeavor is NOT the right way to look at the situation. He has his part in the blame, but he's also not the only person in Toya's life. It's supremely important to see what the REST of Toya's family does between that moment and the mountain. Looking at a psychopath say "My daddy was mean, which is why I burned 30+ people alive" is NOT something you should just take at face value. There's more to the story than just one person.

Ok so this is the split with the Toga fight and the most important fight of the episode/reunion. This is the reunion we’ve all been waiting for. Machia has successfully run across the country to find AFS and the reunion is SO lovely. I weep for how happy they are to see each other. Shigaraki wakes back up to take control and now completely defies AFO’s “advice” to retreat. His body is fried, failing, and Deku probably did WAY more damage just shoving away AFS and resisting the quirk being stolen. And he’s still freshly suntanned from Endeavor. And he’s met with 3 incredibly strong students. Nejire Hado who can blast a city block and collapse Titan sized villains, Todoroki who can basically use his quirk indefinitely, and Iida who can move faster than Gran Torino in the right conditions of his speed boost. All can ACTUALLY deal hefty damage to AFS in this condition. But with Machia here? Decisions have to be made. Take the one that gives the orders off the board. A landscape of ice to race to Shigaraki transitioning into a giant fire blast and Nejire’s strongest condensed blast. MASSIVE moves. But it’s still not enough. And Machia has arrived to put it to an end. And he’s doing JUST FINE. Endeavor is on his last legs and he’s now strategizing how to deal with Machia. He JUST used Prominence Burn, his lung collapsed from getting stabbed by AFS, he’s burnt through nearly EVERY MOVE HE HAS AVAILABLE. Deku has busted his arms to hell and back and is trying to SUPPORT HIS BODY ON THEM. Gran Torino is exploded, Aizawa had his face torn up, and Ryukyu can’t transform back into her dragon form. ALL the heavy hitters are done or on their last legs and Machia is FINE. But Endeavor promised the world he would act and said watch me. He isn’t the #2 anymore. He’s the last line of defense. Would be a shame if instead of having the world watch HIM, he’s about to become but a witness to the world getting ripped in half. By Machia? No. By AFS? No. Oh hi Dabi how ya doing? Nice to see you making lifestyle decisions about your appearance. White hair suits you. Guess we’re just going to come out screaming. Meet Touya Todoroki. The Eldest brother of the Todoroki’s. Back from the dead. Let’s confront this head on. This is known as the “worst kept secret in anime.” And there’s little wonder why. When Endeavor was 1st seen field active in Hosu city in season 2, one of his most MEMORABLE MOVES is frying a Nomu’s head until his flames blast blue. Then comes Dabi with the same color eyes and flames as Endeavor demonstrated. He always make mention of the Todoroki’s true names right in their face of his escapes from the scenes he leaves. Shoto Todoroki, Enji Todoroki. He gets his little jabs EVERYWHERE. And as they revealed Touya’s circumstances, a boy with a strong fire quirk and a body with “Rei’s weak constitution” it’s not hard to realize that means ice resistance. And Dabi does NOT resist his own quirk, and when he fights Geten, he essentially completely ignores the freezing temperatures Geten makes even frostbite on himself that grows. My BEST comeback I came up with to say no that’s not Dabi. Dabi has black hair! Todoroki’s only have red and white hair! Trying to hope people don’t notice his VERY 1ST scene was him seeing Stain’s arrest as he was leaving a hair salon. And if you go back to the scene Hawks demands to know who Dabi is, he flat out mouths “Touya Todoroki.” To Hawk’s horror. They breadcrumbed a bit TOO much if you’re keeping tabs on the Todoroki story. BUT, that doesn’t even MATTER. Because Touya reveal is massive for the Todoroki’s…but he also decides to make a national grandstand about the problems in the Todoroki family NOW. Forcing the ENTIRE WORLD to see the problems we have all been so enthralled by the arcs in loving every moment of, and he makes it EVERYONE’S problem. Suddenly even if you saw it coming the DAY he appeared ceases to be a problem. Because the effect d consequences now ERUPT past EVERYTHING. He’s standing next to 2 WORLD DESTROYERS and he’s got the long game, cards, methods, AND MORE to just do more physically weaker or not. And this previously nigh emotionless character comes alive with nothing but sheer delight knowing he’s got the ENTIRE COUNTRY under his thumb RIGHT HERE in this moment. And what better way to start off than showing Rei Todoroki. She’s been steadily recovering, getting better and healing inside and out with the help of her family…and here comes Touya to remind her WHY she’s healing. Not just because of Shoto…but because of HIM. Seeing him talk about the murders he’s committed, the history of the Todoroki’s trauma, and then showing Touya dance about just ADMITTING to it all. I sent out a paternity test to force you into being responsible. I sent assassins after you in season 5. Touya just comes right out and says “I ADMIT I have the true goal to murder your “perfect child” RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU” I am dragging down you, our family, and that spy known as the #2 hero. I’m yanking you STRAIGHT INTO HELL where we belong. Dismantling EVERYONE’S biggest security. And no one is going to avoid it. As more and more people stop to see what he says as it just keeps reaching more and more ears. We are shown the Sekoto Peak fire. The end of the Todoroki family whether they knew it or not. And the ONLY form of a “happy” Todoroki family that lead up to it. Touya was trained like Shoto as a young kid and Endeavor is shown the only point to be satisfied simply seeing Touya’s fire potential. And accepting Fuyumi is who she is. Messed up ambitions, trying to live through your child, and pressing too hard. If things stayed in this form, perhaps it could’ve been saved under the right conditions. But we all know that with the opportunity to take a good direction with this family…that’s not what happened. And he’s left staring at what remains. Nothing but a charcoal of the house it started as. You already had my funeral. But you skipped my cremation. So I brought the service with me and I’ll bring the entire PLANET on your head. If people can’t believe in YOU, people can’t believe in heroes. Dabi has hijacked what Stain, AFO, and Shigaraki started and set the cannon at Endeavor. And to top it off? He’s going to complete his original mission, and take the ONLY THING Endeavor wanted out. Like Shoto and Endeavor, Dabi is on par with STARS in heat with his full power. Shoto the red, Endeavor the yellow, and Dabi the blue. He is the biggest, hottest, brightest, and engulfs the other two with ease with the only caveat being he burns out faster than the two of them. But here it doesn’t matter. He’s going to use it all. Here comes DABI’S prominence burn. Endeavor is left panicking. He has been left frozen by the sheer terror of Dabi’s fire in comparison. And Shoto is left to confront what he’s COMPLETELY outclassed by. And it’s coming for HIM to make an example for Endeavor to watch. And right when you think we’re about to see true hell, we cling on by a thread. The complete mystery man is Best Jeanist back in town to see everything back together with fabulous luscious locks snatching Dabi out of the air and catching Machia at the same time. Ummmm mission accomplished? We’ll have to see what happens next time.

I seriously think how "obvious" this twist was is overblown. I can't speak to this personally, as I wasn't a fan yet, but I sincerely doubt that most people were putting all the pieces together as the series was releasing (fire Quirk, eye color, hints at the brother's death). Sure, people make those connections NOW, but acting like it was obvious the whole time sounds (no offense) snobby. Also, given his weak fire resistance, would that Prominence Burn have been Toya's last?

Also let me assure you I was reading the manga after season 4 aired and there wasn’t ANYONE who wasn’t on the Touya is Dabi train. It was like every other comment for over a few months and by that point it was around…I wanna say the early chapters of Shigaraki being awake. And by the time we GOT here, it was his grandstanding that just swept us right off our feet anyways because Horikoshi knew people saw it coming. I’m not trying to be snobby, it was just that overwhelming of a conversation. Maybe I was in a weird part of the community. I’d believe it considering where I’m at now.

This is where Endeavor’s redemption arc really begins for me (and yes I understand that those of you in the peanut gallery have some objections to the use of the term) but prior to this Endeavor didn’t really face any consequences for his actions- he abused his family, got what he wanted and then chose to stop and try to be a family man. His character is at its best after this, when his reputation is destroyed beyond repair and he becomes motivated solely by his duty to stop villains- at that point there’s nothing really IN IT for him his dream has been completely destroyed by Touya already. Everything he does after this point is motivated by a intrinsic sense of responsibility and it leads to a metamorphosis into what could be called a a True Hero

It's really cool that Toya's voice sounds halfway between Natsuo's and Shoto's and you don't notice because Natsuo's and Shoto's are different enough that you don't hear it but then you get this reveal and it bridges the gap and it's so cool. Montana said something i noticed which is that BJ was doing stuff endeavor couldn’t do, so why is he number one. Endeavor actually has the most amount of resolved cases by a longshot. He even had more cases resolved than all might when he was a pro. on paper he’s actually very good at his job and that’s the reason he’s able to be number one despite having a lower approval rating than Hawks and best jeanist. He’s not been a good father but from what we see, he’s actually a very good hero and he clearly does care about the people. His big issue was being too greedy/power hungry to the point where he used his family as tools to reach his personal goals, and a flawed logical framework on which to base decisions. I know a lot of people like to just hate abusive people forever, which is understandable, especially if their opinion is shaped by personal experience. But i personally find it unproductive, and i actually think endeavor is my favorite character for trying to change. I want to be very clear that nothing he did was justified, however i also don’t feel like it justifies killing 30+ civilians and blaming your father for neglecting you. 0 accountability

Even though we sorta knew, the revelation is executed amazingly. The way Dabi just casually greets them to revealing the secret and backstory to straight out chewing out Endavor with a reason you suck speech to straight out declaring his gonna send him to h###, it was epic, shocking, and somewhat funny. Now I could be wrong but I have sensed there might be an extreme level of hype for this episode. 2 gigantic fights and a great deal in it. (I’ll split the Toga fight and some side stuff from the AFS/Machia/totally not someone else’s hijacked fight. This is the Toga side) Now it could just be a coincidence. Personally I’M hyped to see a man’s personally branded belt buckle that…I didn’t know he had. Was that belt buckle in the manga? No they kept it obstructed. Was this kind of needless? Yeah. They put MORE effort into showing this completely unidentifiable faceless man’s clothes. Which is a bit of a shame because if you don’t see it coming, it definitely has more impact when the reveal is in full. It doesn’t change how much of a miracle it is that this complete mystery character is showing up with what they’ve been through across the show. Thankfully they make up for it next episode with one of the coolest entrances in the show for NO FREAKING REASON. And honestly, I’ll take the entrance over the shock value. I’ve watched that entrance a LOT while I researched this season. Next we got the Uraraka and Toga confrontation. Toga is looking to see if she’s considered a person worth protecting like heroes do for everyone else and Uraraka has NO IDEA what is happening. Uraraka thinks this is some type of grudge match or assassination attempt. But Toga just keeps talking as if it’s a therapy session. Talking about her obsessions, who’s been mean to her, and how she’s helped herself feel better….while trying to attack Uraraka as she likes her and wants her blood. She talks of Jin, Curious, the scene where she kills Curious, stalking the kids at the provisional licensing exam when she…assaulted Deku. And of course we gotta talk about our shared crush on Deku. He’s SOOOO dreamy. You like him because he’s an absolute supporting loving friend for life that will do anything to help others, and I like him because he explodes his arms. ITS SO HOT. Uraraka is hyper focused on apprehending her and gets stuck on the understandable parts of this conversation like Toga trying to stab her, and she’s telling Uraraka hey I can use your quirk because I like you. She steals her good luck charm she got for Christmas from Deku and talks about suppressed feelings and urges. You can’t completely shut them out, especially when you feel them so strongly. And she even seems genuinely happy when Uraraka starts throwing in more and more moves. And Uraraka finally answers her question. Am I a person worth protecting? Uraraka says you threaten, hurt, kill, and there’s consequences. And when you do that, you deserve them. Toga now knows, the answer is “no.” There’s a LOT happening in this fight including some OF COURSE rule breakers but really cool fighting strategies too. Rule break number 1 is Uraraka grabbed Toga with all 5 fingers WITHOUT triggering her quirk. In the manga she did and only affected Toga’s sweater. Which is visibly floating in a few panels. The potential to control when and where her quirk will trigger is an IMMENSE aspect to put on the table. And I’ll just take it as she CAN do this but it’s not a reflex and requires concentration. (She still has to wear gloves to bed so she doesn’t lose her blanket and such while she sleeps.) Shigaraki in time was able to use all 5 fingers without using decay, so it stands to reason Uraraka can or will be able to do that too as they have the same kind of contact quirk. Another thing is when she used the move “Zero Satellites.” There’s ZERO shot all of that was in arm’s reach even when she fell. And I brought this up in the Overhaul base that spread is VERY MUCH so a possibility for her and may have been demonstrated as early as the episode Overhaul turns into a kaiju. I think this is the 1st moment I just can’t even justify another answer. All of that is coming from completely different directions when she starts yanking everything she affected. Not only that but she managed to land 8 perfect tether shots without looking away from Toga as she starts swinging everything around the room to insure she can’t use her ninja movement she whispers in Deku’s ear when she’s Camie. Long distance is a lot more difficult for Toga but Toga is more just twirling and vibing as this confrontation happens. Uraraka also seems to be using the facet where she controls gravity’s natural direction and possibly the creating a gravitational pull to really chain and get her tether weapons to swing at different times even when it’s attached to the same arm. Not to mention she’s attacking from a different room and is getting all these objects in and out, through a doorway which is CRAZY impressive. There’s a LOT happening for this attack to be doing so much. Once Toga finds her answer, she’s done. She couldn’t get a full conversation out of Uraraka. Tsu cuts off Toga from…cutting but also that conversation from the jump. Machia runs by and it’s over. Toga wasn’t able to bond, and only when Toga starts to cry does Uraraka realize there was a LOT more happening in that conversation. Toga tearing up grabbed Uraraka’s attention more than anything else and all it did was make her ask questions. Were those topics REAL. What was happening in her head? Reinfield’s syndrome is a rare case in people and it’s also often tied to Schizophrenia. Which looking over the common conditions with THAT, Toga has a laundry list of displays. Disorganized behavior, compulsive behavior, false belief in superiority, thought disorder, delusion, hallucination, paranoia, you can go through a literal list and Toga shows 90% of it at one point or another. Except any loss in physical coordination or slowness in activity because Toga can MOVE. You can’t diagnose real people with no expertise but you can and should easily be able to for fictional characters which are designed to be relatable and understood regardless how crazy and detached they may seem so long as the writer cares about displaying personality…which is definitely one of Horikoshi’s areas of expertise in his writing. And most people really struggle to communicate with those that experience Schizophrenia as movies often can taint what’s understood and it only affects 1.1% of the population. And WITH Reinfield’s syndrome on top of it, it makes Toga among the hardest characters in the show to understand. So I decided to do a little reading up on it other than just saying what her syndrome is. (If I can spend an hour reading up on genetic mutations because of Eri and find what Horikoshi nearly 1 to 1 used to write about the basis of the creation of rewind and how they talk about it I can do the same for Toga’s issues.)

@ the dabi identity foreshadowing: during S2's hero killer arc, there's one moment where endeavor focuses his flames into a concentrated point on a regenerating nomu's head, and his flames turn blue as a result. this is the ONLY time endeavor's flames have ever appeared completely blue, and that was actually a decision made by the anime adaptation animators with no input from the author (horikoshi) himself. it's speculated that after that episode aired, horikoshi spoke with the animation team and told him to not give endeavor blue flames in the future to avoid spoiling the dabi reveal. of course, they couldnt just change the episode after it already aired, because that would have looked suspicious. it's worth noting that by this point, the theory of dabi being a long lost todoroki son was VERY popular with fans,
