This was admittedly pretty sad, as this team seemed to be REALLY well liked and even venerated by a few people. Gotta' say though, all the in-car footage from the night was intensely engrossing. This circuit certainly lives up to its infamous reputation!

People here act like the difference in speed between these cars is anything new. I remember watching the 24h as a kid (when it was still interesting) and the grid was full of 90's Golfs, as well as 318IS', Civics and other privateers. Back then we already had absolute monsters in the SP7 class. Sure the gap in speeds may have widened a bit, but it hasn't gotten THAT much bigger. The mindset of the racers is what has changed.

is this a joke or poor attempt and revisionism? speed difference in the 90's where mostly group N cars was competing and it was more of an amateurish race is nowhere close to the modern SP9 class that are 4 minutes a lap faster than the potato dacia. Also compared to the old SP7 you are talking about modern cars , tyres, aero, drivers are so much more advanced, professional and more importantly faster now but the backward German ADAC STILL allow rolling road blocks to race.. they need to use some of their so called German logic and mandate a minimum qualifying time for slow cars

Ich denke es ist ein Zusammenspiel mehrerer Faktoren. Der Dacia ist viel zu langsam, obwohl ich solche Teams über alles mag. Die besitzen mehr Herzblut als manches Werksteam. Andererseits ist das Ego gewisser Fahrer einfach zu gross. Zum Glück sind alle lebend davongekommen, das ist das wichtigste!

Dacia & Manta only cars that I really appreciate seeing every year we travel from the UK to see this race. The GT3s are great to watch, but I feel they should show a little more respect to the slower cars when the speed difference is so great. So many of the faster cars take real hard risks to overtake slow movers. The Dacia was well off racing line in this and is absolutely not at fault! RIP Dacia, I wish the team the best of luck in rebuilding and returning for next year! ❤️

I was watching through the night when the #72 had it's spin. From the onboard i saw the Logan shooting by, happy it was still running. The BMW then limped along and 20 sec. later it passed the "explosion site" with the badly mangled Logan, totally surreal. They never showed the Elantra onboard then, i'm glad i found it here, gives me a bit closure. RIP Logan.

Who's to blame ? Clearly the organizers to accept such a difference in top speeds, which leads to inevitable crashes... or the Porsche driver who just wasn't able to avoid this mobile chicane... The Dacia driver couldn't be held responsible for any other faster cars coming up in the mirrors, who have to check whether they can overtake safely enough ; which wasn't the case, obviously. Don't blame the slower one...

Der Dacia muss an Stellen, die man nicht einsehen kann, damit rechnen dass dann von hinten ein GT 3 Bolide angeflogen kommt und darf dann keinesfall, wenn er die Stelle passiert hat, auf der Ideallinie bzw. wie hier mitten auf der Strecke fahren. Und dann noch im Dunkeln. Da konnte keiner mehr reagieren. Das ist dann auch kein Rennen mehr, wenn man 24 Stunden wie im Schützengraben in Deckung gehen muss weil von hinten die Granaten fliegen. 🪖

Der Dacia war schon viele Sekunden vorher deutlich zu sehen. Da hat sich der Porsche verschätzt. Zu dem Entschluss ist auch die Rennleitung gekommen. Wenn man sich die Reifenspuren auch mal genau ansieht - Bild für Bild - sieht man, dass der Porsche ziemlich genau auf der Mitte der Fahrbahn war, als es zum Unfall kam.

Allgemeines Problem beim 24-er und der NLS. Die Teilnehmerzahl war ja schlicht ein Witz und die kleinen Klassen ja quasi gar nicht mehr vorhanden. Kann mich noch dran erinnern, das wir mit unserem Astra G OPC Mindestzeiten liefern mussten, weil mehr als 240 (Gut 100 mehr) genannt hatten und nur 220 starten durften. Ist gerade mal 10 Jahre her und die Serie im Grunde im Popo. Da können sie lobhudeln, wie sie wollen. Erbärmlich. Trotzdem Gratulaton an Frikadelli, Klaus Abbelen und das ganze ! Team: Spitzen-Leistung ! LIKE.

It was tragic to see the Dacia becoming crashed out, but it was only a matter of time that this would happen. The Dacia was much slower than even the second slowest car. The Dacia didn't do anything wrong, but the differences in speed were just to high. There were similar situations with a classic Mini about 15 years ago, which led to a ban of normally aspirated cars below 1750 ccm.

This Dacia doesn't have a stock engine though. It has a 200hp Renault Clio Cup car engine.

​@@erwinmulder1338 The other that Misha drove had a 2.0 F7R n/a engine from the Megane coupe, tuned to about 160hp, stock is about 150. This one (and I think you're might be right) has an an mk2 Clio RS CUP F4R n/a 172? (Tuned to 200hp) Still have to confirm which one was.

It's quite clear that the driver of the Porsche saw the Dacia just fine, and activated the headlight blinkers at 0:13 to let him know he was going to be passed. It is the responsibility of the car doing the passing to do so safely, and, as this was a crash, it's clear that the passing driver failed to do so. This isn't a problem of closing speed, but a risk of racing. Combine a sport which requires extremely high concentration from the participants, with a 24 hour endurance event in which it's considered "Good" if you get as much as 4 hours of sleep, and the true problem becomes clear.

WTF is wrong with the ADAC? it isnt a 70s-90s tourist race era anymore and GT3 class cars are so fast now, why is a slow like Dacia Logan allowed to race when it is 4 minutes a lap slower than the sp9 cars and a massive hazard? the only reason its a "fan favourite" is because people think its funny to see a rolling roadblock racing..There must be a rule where the slowest car's lap time in qualifying must be with a % off the top car

You can just watch the 24h of Spa then, with 60 outstanding GT3 grid. That kind of car is what makes N24 the best race and the most traditional. Fiestas, Golfs, 2 Series, 3 Series from 90's are what makes this special. Only GT2-GT3-GT4+Cup+TCR would be good, but not as that good.

Das ist ein wirklich trauriger Tag gewesen für den Motorsport als echten Breitensport in Deutschland. Der letzte echte Volkswagen ist von uns gegangen. Autos wie der kleine tapfere Dacia waren mal das Herz und die Seele dieser Veranstaltung, doch mittlerweile ist diese komplett zu einem Spielplatz für Millionäre geworden. Mit dem Ende vom Dacia ist auch das letzte bisschen "Breitensport" beim 24 Stunden Rennen zu einem Ende gekommen. Einfach nur Traurig..

Je reproche à ADAC de faire participer une catégorie comme la DACIA, tout cela met en danger voir même la pire situation des pilotes qui peuvent laisser leurs vies , il faut que cela cesse.

Es gibt Passagen am Ring die mit GT3 oder Cup Porsche weit über 200km/h gefahren werden! Der Dacia ist absolut untermotorisiert! Da kann jeder Fan des Autos erzählen was er will! Im dunkeln wird es damit noch schwieriger diesen Fahrzeug nicht zu nahe zu kommen! Blinde Kuppen oder Kurven bei dem Speed lassen kaum Raum um so einem buchstäblichen Hindernis auszuweichen! Die einzige Lösung wäre das man an jedem Streckenabschnitt ne weisse Flagge hält in dem sich so ein langsames Fahrzeug befindet! Es war nur eine Frage der Zeit wann es so krachen wird!

hab auch das gefühl, die fahrer die da drauf gesessen haben sind nich besonders fähig gewesen. Jedenfalls nicht schnell wenn man mal die Bestzeiten vergleicht war der dacia fast ne minute weg vom rest.... und das obwohl der soooo viel langsamer garnich sein dürfte. ältere rundenzeiten von ähnlichen autos (golf 3 2.0 16v oder e46 320i aus älteren 24h rennen) waren auch schon 40 Sekunden schneller in ihren top rundenzeiten.
