Change air filter 2-3 times a year. Holy shit thats a waste of money. Unless you live in an area with dusty roads or something I would just do it every 10-20k. Use an air compressor to blow it out a little if you want. Everything else though is pretty solid advise.

My dad has never teached me something about cars, and most of all, he never put faith in me. I'm far away being the best mechanic but I can do oil changes and I change my tires myself. Some things I just can't do, then I have to pay for it, many times it's expensive. All my knowledge I've got has come from internet, youtube in particular, and some from friends. There is times yes when trying doing something yourself getting more expensive then it should be in the first place. Things like screws and nuts which simply don't come loose, or if you're breaking something. In moment like that my dad just standing laughing. But shit happens. And you won't do the same mistake twice. But as long as you're learning, it's worth it!

Big thing you missed here is if you need to top up your coolant you have a leak. Don't just top it up, find the source or take it to a shop so they can pressure teag it for you. Coolant should not go down, it is in a sealed system so somthing is wrong..

Some coolant systems naturally evaporate fluid and or will have a automatic release for it. Just because you’re topping it off once or twice year doesn’t mean anything when it comes to if its leaking or not.

3-5k is from the 80s. It's 7.5-10k miles, and sometimes up to 15k. Just check fluid levels regularly and use good oil. They make universal coolant that can be used and mixed with any make, model and color.
@thecookiemonstergaming3089 Жыл бұрын
If you actually read the recommendations from your car’s manufacturer and if they recommend a 10k oil change dig deeper a lot of them will have a fine print stating only change oil every 10k miles if you drive At least 55 miles per day otherwise change more frequently at the 6 month mark for most. Most people Don’t qualify for a 10k oil change but still do it one of the reasons new cars don’t last as long as the old ones.
