Not defending DCP cause honestly I don’t know much about him and have only seen a few videos and don’t have an opinion on the lawsuit …. but Alicia is in the wrong too. She is a foster parent and shared extremely sensitive information online about kids. The kids get NO privacy online. She was on a live stream and refused to turn it off when one of her kids came home bawling after being bullied. That’s so wrong. I think it is exploiting kids for views. Family channels need to be stopped.

Ahh okay. I didn’t realize that. I think for me its the privacy of the children that matter the most. I don’t agree with completely berating someone and saying mean things about them online, at all. I just think she needs to take a step back and realize that complete strangers realize way too much about her kids.

I know about Dougherty Dozen through my mother who regularly watches her channel. I think she does a lot of videos where she shows how to manage a budget with so many children... but I can't remember if this is the right channel or if it's somebody else my mother follows. I agree, though. I feel like this woman is a foster parent and she definitely has crossed the line with her foster and adoptive children. Oftentimes, children in the foster care system cannot have their images posted online for fear of the child's safety. That's what rubbed me the wrong way when I was watching one of the channel's videos.

No one (but the family themselves and those working with them) knows what goes on behind the scenes in anyone's home, period. Second, how does he think that Moms who are corporate CEOs, or high-ranking businesswomen in any industry, or Moms in the art industry who have to leave for months to be on location to act, or photograph, etc.-both raise children and run successful businesses/careers?! His own personal judgments are being presented as the "standard" for parenting, and that is just ridiculous. This is not commentary, and You Tube needs to start paying more attention to THIS garbage, than the censoring of the content of creators in spaces that are actually providing value and good towards others.

I used to watch him but I had to unsub when the Myka Stauffer situation arose. He used to cover situations fairly well but it seems like it all went to his head. There was enough for him to cover Myka without making a video about her cooking and making fun of her the whole time. It reminded me of that girl who inserted herself in the Daddy o Five situation and kept posting "updates" that weren't really updates with any new information.

Does this family have foster kids? If so, they must lock up any alcohol & all medicine. That’s part of the agreement. You need to keep children safe. It also seems like Josh is really jealous about the brand deals these families get and make a lot of money. If the tables were turned, and he was making bank off of big brand deals, he wouldn’t be going after people. He’s all talk & needs to realize the laws in the US are different from Canada. Also, Josh has shown his children on his channel, so is he any different from any other family blogger??

It’s definitely paranoid for Alicia to say that he sent people into her home to spy on her … but for good reason imo. If CPS is being continually called on her and her husband’s and children’s schools being called repeatedly, and they all say they called because of his channel … well to me it makes sense that she would have that suspicion. If anyone in her home was legitimately concerned about safety issues that is an issue for CPS and not something you should share with a commentary channel. How irresponsible. Also, he’s made private details of those kids lives public that haven’t been on Alicia’s channel, by his own admission. How is he not everything he says he stands against? @@suzVV I don't think "better" is an appropriate word.... He is bringing attention to the issue of child exploitation on KZbin. Calling out the parents and blurring the children's faces. He is making money calling out the parents - not the children. And, he's created quite a following doing it. Bringing attention to something that could cause harm to children is not an awful platform. People do it all the time for abused, trafficked and assaulted minors.

On one of his more recent videos he did on Dougherty Dozen, he talked about a situation in the house that may or may not have happened in the first place and it's basically been narrowed down to two of her adopted kids. I don't think any of that was shared online by Alicia or other Dougherty family members before. I think he also mentioned something about having people digging into the Dougherty's. I don't remember the exact wording. Also, in past videos, he's made comments (which to me seemed to be half joking and half serious) about Alicia drinking White Claw all the time just because she drinks it often. I've had trouble watching some of his videos just because of something he said or how he makes fun of Alicia.

@34:35 he's making accusations as if they are facts and without any context. I have known people that have children who sleep walk - and have ended up in the middle of the street or something like that, and it's so bad and dangerous that they do have locks on doors from the outside. There are also instances where children have severe mental health issues and are dangerous to themselves and others, so when the family is sleeping, they are locked in their bedroom to prevent injury. I'm not saying either of these is the case with this family he's targeted, but if the accusation is true there could be legitimate reasons behind it. This family may not be similar to the Turpins, like he seems to be hoping. Also, he's not funny. He's a bully.

It’s not just slander to say the kids lives are in danger without proof, it’s harmful to the children if it isn’t true. All children need to feel safe and loved with their parents (I’m sure with adopted children this is already a hurdle) and to put that bond at risk bc it’s good “drama” or you want to be the first to break the story is irresponsible.

Yeah... that doesn't make any kind of sense whatsoever. I have heard of cases where child abuse was filmed and put on full display on KZbin- for example, that mother who made a video after her child got into her makeup pallet and told the world that she beat her child after she discovered that her little girl acted like most curious children do... with her child crying in pain in the background. Not only were police called but so were CPS- by so many people concerned for the welfare and safety of the child. Nobody 'contacted' the KZbinr directly to express their concerns- they immediately jumped into action and got the appropriate authorities involved.

While I do agree that more needs to be done to protect the children of family vloggers, I don't believe that what Josh is doing is good, either. He doesn't seem at all interested in implementing any kind of laws that protect the children and seems to be using these channels for the sake of entertainment. I mean, some of his content is (was) good. He really was educating people on the harm many channels like Dougherty Dozen can do to their children- but at the same time, he's bullying these people and seems more like a male version of Katie Joy than somebody interested in protecting the best interests of children.

I used to be a huge supporter of Josh, but lately all his videos are on is this family who I have no interest in whatsoever! But the problem is, the only thing that’s a constant w DCP is talking about money, how much do and so makes, etc…it’s weird. Didn’t he just DM a mother who quite literally JUST put her child into hospice to tell her she’s a shameful parent putting her child on social media…amongst other things; despite the fact this particular woman from what I understand Isn’t a ‘mommy vlogger’ Her child suffered for YRS from a terminal illness no one could diagnosis & once she got an actual diagnosis & learned this was a genetic mutation passed on from her & her husband, she started a page to raise awareness so no Child would suffer that intently & parents& doctors would know what to test for (her child has certain physical characteristics that have made it easier to identify the mutation In others) From what I’ve gathered… she doesn’t share embarrassing information about her kid or when she’s in painful/private moments …if there were any right reasons for her to do what she’s doing… I’d say this is it… She’s really nothing like the ‘mommy vloggers’ Josh supposedly goes after… yet he’s made her a target WHILE she’s enduring one of the most difficult things any parent could.. I do believe that family channels are exploiting their children if they are profiting from the content. However that being said there is technically no proof that this is happening. We dont have any physical proof yet of the effects that family channels have on the children since most are still young. You would think if he cared so much about child exploitation he would make attempts to help with that process of proving the exploitation to be true/fact. But what he does instead is make fun of the moms online and makes the cause about him. Who is this man really helping?

I think you don't understand the definition of the word exploitation. Putting your kids personal lives and private information on the internet for clicks and money is exploitation. He is not wrong about that. And yes, the kids are in danger because millions of people know their personal information and they get picked on at school. Alex in particular is a huge target for bullying. Josh in no way shape or form sent anyone to spy on Alisha. Talking to someone who knows her is not a crime. You're completely off base with this.
