The other girls are "Metalverse" and performing with Babymetal that nigh.They first appeared on January 28, 2023, during the BABYMETAL RETURNS - THE OTHER ONE - live shows. Described as a new parallel world, METALVERSE featured three members: Todaka Miko, Kimura Sakia, and Kato Kokona, who joined BABYMETAL in performing Doki Doki ☆ Morning. Their second appearance was at BABYMETAL BEGINS - THE OTHER ONE - shows and they performed KARATE. In both shows, they mirrored BABYMETAL's choreography and wore red versions of their stage costumes. On August 20, 2023, METALVERSE officially debuted as a solo act at the SUMMER SONIC 2023 festival in Tokyo.[2] Opening for the "Mountain Stage," they introduced two new members, Yagi Miki and Nozaki Yume, along with new stage costumes and three unreleased songs.

One of the reasons why fans like to recommend that version of Doki Doki Morning is to see how long it will take for the reactor to discover that they are not BabyMetal but three different girls. 😀😃😁😆🤣The facial expressions of each reactor are so funny! Thanks for your great reaction.

Hahaha Dad got it, Dashy completely didn't!🤣 This was not clever editing from two different concerts, it was two stages slowly coming together in the middle of the arena with BABYMETAL on one and (at the time anonymous) METALVERSE mirroring them on the other. Even the people there were confused and wondered how BABYMETAL had suddenly transported to the other side of the arena when the lights went out on them - they were thinking was it a screen, an effect with smoke and mirrors, had they teleported? Then (like Dad) they saw it was 3 different girls with red skirts (a throwback to the old costumes). Some people managed to recognise the new girls as Miko Todaka, Sakia Kimura (both from Sakura Gakuin) and Kokona Kato (from Amuse Kids). Miko was singing live, listen again. She has a great voice, but she is not Su-metal and you can hear the difference as they each sing different lines. These were the BABYMETAL Returns concerts in January 2023, their first live shows in nearly 2 years as they broke the seal after their hiatus. Yes Momoko was still an Avenger, but at the end of the second night they teased the possibility of a new third member and announced the BABYMETAL Begins concerts to be held at the PIA MM Arena (there was a clue there) in Yokohama on 1st (Black Night) and 2nd April (Clear Night) 2023 and it was at the end of Black Night that Momoko was revealed as Momometal. On Clear Night they got the shiny costumes and Momometal got her mic.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う。I witnessed this very performance at the venue last year and dropped my jaw like YOU DID today. After a portentous narration with Marvel style, the bubbly and playful intro of Doki Doki Morning that has stark contrast with the prior sinister message started. Then ... I could not understand what was going on when another set of seemingly pseudo-BABYMETAL appeared in duel position against authentic BABYMETAL . I did not know who they were but came to know that they were amazing performers immediately after they started to sing and dance. What a surprising story Team BABYMETAL had produced to entertain the audience !! (After the show, fans promptly figured out who the mysterious girls were ) This song is about a school girl who overslept in the morning and got up quickly and dressed in haste asking repeatedly "what time is it now?. "Doki Doki" signifies sound of fast heartbeat. Su, Moa and Momoko are matured and no longer school girls, but they revived this song in 2021 shows at Budokan mimicking their own childhood voices and lovable moves. I loved it. But this 2023 version with 6 girls made my heartbeat 300 bpm Doki Doki And the another set of girls called Metalverse is now having their own concerts since this.

Great and funny reaction, thanks! 🤣 Makuhari Messe is a huge convention center in Chiba, Tokyo greater area, You wouldn't believe how many reactors don't realize there is a different set of ladies (good job!!). They are METALVERSE and they were there on stage (two big moving "roombas"). If you are confused, don't worry. I still remember the online reports from the attendees the first day. Keep in mind that most people couldn't see the whole thing. The two stages moved longitudinally dividing the venue in two and it's a huge flat room. 🤘🦊

I was there on the first day of this 2 days show. Like you two did, I remember that I was also confused there that the long breakdown was some kind of troubles or not. Some fans call that stage set-up the ‘Hiroshima type’ (from Legend S).

Makuhari Messe is a convention center at Chiba, which is south east of Tokyo proper on the Bōsō Peninsula. The concert was held in Convention Halls 2 & 3, so the venue was like a massive aircraft hanger. It was kind of annoying because there were two massive pillars right in the middle of the arena which blocked the view a couple of times during the show. The Babymetal Returns show at Makuhari was their first live performance following the hiatus, so it was their big welcome back celebration, as well as the first live performances of songs from The Other One. It was the last set of shows that Momoko did as Avenger before becoming Momometal a few months later at Babymetal Begins at PIA Arena MM. The performance of Doki Doki Morning came as a bit of a surprise to those of us who were there because apart from the performances at 10 Babymetal Budokan, they hadn't performed DDM live since 2017. Then we were even more surprised when the three other girls appeared opposite Babymetal. It wasn't a video editing trick or anything like that, they were really there in the arena performing live with Babymetal; I was there in the arena and saw it myself. They way they did it with the lighting and drawing the audience's attention to what Babymetal was doing while they were getting the other girls into position in the dark was very clever because it looked like a magic trick when they just appeared. I initially thought I was seeing some sort of projection or hologram effect that was mirroring Babymetal, but then I saw that they new girls were wearing different outfits that had the current style, but had the old red and black colour scheme of the class 2014 outfits and realized that they were a new trio of performers. At the time we didn't know who the three new girls were, but within a couple of hours after the show, they had been identified as former Sakura Gakuin members Miko Todaka (chibi Su) and Sakia Kimura (chibi Yui/Momo), as well as Kokona Kato (chibi Moa) from Amuse Camp. Miko in particular is well known from her SG days as being a particularly strong vocalist, and is often regarded as the best singer to come out of SG since Su-metal herself. Miko was definitely singing live during the DDM performance; her voice has a different tone and colour to Su's that is quite noticeable. The three girls would appear again three months later at the PIA Arena show for the performance of Karate. A little while after that, it was announced that they were are new Amuse group called Metalverse. Metalverse have since done a couple of live solo performances, as well as opening the show at FOX_FEST with Asterism in May this year, where I got to see them live. They have nine songs of their own, but so far there has been no album announcement, and no further shows since FOX_FEST.

You should have watched a part of the second half again, after you figured it out, that there were in fact two times 3 girls performing here. Maybe this would have helped against the confusion. Dad is right here and no, it wasn't a different night with some clever editing. There were two stages at the same time on that show, Babymetal performed on the first stage, while Metalverse started to perform in the second verse in a mirror formation on a second stage. The other three girls are Metalverse and they wear the different costume with the red skirt. Both stages slowly moved towards each other and finally met in the end. You can see all six of them pretty clearly in the final moments (actually you can see it quite early on, if you know it - is your screen too small, or why didn't you catch that?). Otherwise the camera just moved around between both stages.

Metalverse remains an enigmatic project at this point. I think it was originally conceived to ride on the Web3 & Metaverse bandwagon (Kobametal was appointed to run a new Amuse subsidiary called Kulture Co. in mid-2022), except that technology has since been superseded by Artificial Intelligence. Kulture Co. ended up launching only NFTs, e-wallet, Discord fan communities, etc. all of which didn't take off. Metalverse itself was formed out of BM's two sister groups which had disbanded during the pandemic. At first, it consisted of Miko Todaka (then aged 17) & Sakia Kimura (then 14) from Sakura Gakuin, plus Kokona Kato (then 14) who had won an Amuse talent contest at 11 years old & was initially earmarked to join Ciao Smiles. Subsequently, Miki Yagi (then 17) & Yume Nozaki (then 16), both also formerly from SG, also joined Metalverse when its lineup expanded into a quintet later that year (2023). However, Metalverse seems to have reverted back to the original trio this year. Yume announced her contract has ended & she would be focusing on her studies, while Miki is still with Amuse but indicated she was switching to acting (currently committed to the 'Jujutsu Kaisen 0' stage musical). Except for Miko, all the aforementioned (along with other remaining members of SG & CS) had initially been co-opted into Amuse Camp, which is the successor trainee wing for SG. (Their website currently lists everyone to have 'graduated' except for Sakia & Kokana, though.) Meanwhile, Miko is seen as a special prodigy (she might be even more talented than Su at the same age) whom Kobametal was keen to front a new girl group with, & who hasn't been allowed to join any other activities as a result. Still, Metalverse hasn't signed with any record label yet. At this point, they have merely held two solo showcases, released two solo live videos, performed with BM twice in 2023 (as a trio), at Summer Sonic 2023 (as a quintet), & at Fox_Fest 2024 (as a trio with Asterism as their guest band). In any case, Miko is already 18 this year, thereafter graduating senior high in real life (not compulsory education in Japan but most girls attend it) & high time to give showbiz a shot.

It's always fun to watch reactions to this performance to see how long it takes people to realize what's going on. We called the 3 other girls Chibi-metal until we heard their official name would be Metalverse. They went on to add 2 more members, held a few concerts, released a few music videos and then the 2 new members ended up leaving. We haven't heard anything from them since then, it's been about 8 months now. We assume Miko, Sakia and Kokona (the same 3 in this performance) are still in the group but we're still waiting for an album release.

The coversation at end of this video was so funny. Just as dad thought he had got it worked out the best he could (whilst still having no idea who they were or why they were even there) Dashy would agree with him and then...missrepresent what he said, dad was like 'Nooooooo!'. It got so confusing dad even said 'Yes..Noooooo!' at one point🤯. It reminded me of the guard scene in Monty Python's the Holy Grail😆. To be fair, it is very confusing if you don't know anything about it. They look and sound like Babymetal's clones when people first see them, but you start to recognise them more when you see them as Metalverse. It took a while for a lot of people to recognise the difference between Yui and Moa at first, then it suddenly becomes obvious.

By the way on the night Momo got announced and the following night when she was Momometal for the first time with mike as well, Metalverse who were called by fans, Chibi Babymetal also appear during Karate, although the two dancers changed. Miko Todaka sings both times and is the singer for Metalverse.

Dashy & Dad, you just met The Metalverse, a different group that is supposedly a Babymetal variant from a different universe. The members are Miko, Sakia and Kokona. In this show they perform together with Babymetal, but they also have their own music and their own shows. They had a lineup of 5 girls at one point, but recently they went back to the original 3. Those girls are part of the same Idol agency that created Babymetal. You were so confused. LoL I loved it. 😅😂🤣 As someone said, people request this video to reactors just to see their confusion when the "second Babymetal" shows up. 😉
