28:52 The drums are muted, usually with special skins, or stuffed with sound dampening material (or both). And the cymbals are designed for low volume. If you look closely at the cymbals, they are made of thicker metal to dull the sound and prevent them from ringing out. Real drums are much louder and sound much more like they do on the recording. In smaller venues, or if you are right at the front in larger venues, you can easily hear them over the PA. When I saw Hanabie. at The Underworld in London you could clearly hear Chika playing - she hits hard 🙂 Also, it's why you often see the drummer performing behind a perspex screen, to help prevent the drums from being picked up by other mic's (e.g. the singers). Drums are *loud* 🙂
