Yes they are capable of jealousy, we had a parrot whom we treated like Ducky, then a chick was born and when we would cuddle the chick the parrot would come rushing to peck us.

@@janice369 I think you’re taking it too literally. I don’t literally think he’s terrified of Ducky, but he’s definitely jumpy around her. I don’t mean that as a bad thing. I think he’s still learning how to interact with her and bonding. Tinkerbell is rough with her preening but it’s not to be mean. Since she lost her previous mate, she may have never learned how to gently preen.

That when new feathers come in they have a sort of casing or something that will fall off but they can just tug off because they're uncomfortable... But they can't get the ones in their own head so getting those spots for each other is an affectionate thing? Like cats grooming each other's heads or someone brushing your hair, scratching your back, or doing up the zipper/buttons that are hard to reach ❤ I think lol the memory is half impression at this point 🤷🏼

Ring-neck girls don't usually talk much. I've heard of exceptions, but most are like Tinkerbell. Sometimes when the girls are young they will say a few words, but by the time they're adults it goes away. There's one female Ring-neck owner who says her female talks a lot, though, so you never know. In the wild, the males are probably vocal as a way to attract a mate, which is why the females don't usually talk.
