No, it's not you idiots. It's 100% constitutional for the president to stop immigration from nations that are dremed as high conflict zones. It's literally in the constitution this dope held up. These people are banking on the fact that liberals never pay attention, and sent know anything about history. It's called political theater. Years later you dopes still believe it because you're too lazy to fact-check for yourself. Low information voters.

This man's family has given their life in service for the USA. Trump's only sacrifice has been to file his bankruptcies as he gained billions. As an American and a military vet, I ask myself who has more of a right to talk about what makes America great. The Democrats talked of love for this country, working together and ,despite not being perfect ,what is great about America, The Republican convention was all about hate for others and love for Trump.

Tens of thousands of foreign workers are used by Trump with temporary visa .. And employing a lot of people doesn't mean you are going to make a good president. Look at Madoff he employed a lot of folks too. In fact most of the people by far employed by Trump are foreigners as he has outsourced EVERY product he has in seven different countries. Listen .......We are not talking about immigration ..... We are all immigrants ... I am , My father was... we all have a story..... None of us was a threat to the country we immigrated to.... In fact people are immigrating now , right now from western countries , too and from .. All of them , like me had to go through proper screenings.... some made it , some did not... No one criticised the country for rejecting them ... if you didn't make it , you went home and tried to improve your chances by making the necessary adjustments on your application ... Countries have a 'Responsibility ' to its own citizens . This has all gone out of the window now ........ Anything goes .... complete and utter madness.... The middle east is the very last place on earth , that citizens should be taken from , un vetted.... complete madness... chaos guaranteed .... Any person who has strong religious leanings , all or them hostile to each other in their own countries ...... must be carefully vetted , if not outright rejected ...... It crazy to imagine the Muslims will cast aside their ideology for ours.... they hate us in the middle east , and they hate us still.... Even the ones who are shell shocked and unable to know what side of the fence they are on ... will soon be 'rescued ' by a Mosque and a cleric who will steer them back on track.... Madness will follow.. for as long as the Quran is still read and followed ....

I appreciate his son's sacrifice and most muslims here in the states are generally good people. That said, we should be able to be critical of the troubling aspects of the Islamic faith. Especially the parts that justify terrorism. Critism of Islam is not racism. Islam is an ideology not a race.

No parts justify terrorism, in fact simple research into the context behind the quotes that anti-Islamic hate mongerers spam all the time displays just so.

***** I understand that this faith is dear and precious to you and it must tough to watch these groups commit such heinous atrocities in the name of your faith. That said, there are distinct differences between the teachings of Christ vs the teachings of Muhammad in regards how to treat your enemies and non believers. Christ says to love your enemies, even those who try to kill you. The Qu'ran gives believers permission to wage war against enemies or Islam and of unbelievers. Christian committing acts of violence against a person is not following the teachings of Christ. Unfortunately, the opposite is true in regards to Islam. It's why there is no shortage of Muslims that are willing to join these various terrorist groups.
@TehKoolaidkid8 жыл бұрын
We do though????????????? We all unanimously condemn them, I don't understand what you want from us
@TehKoolaidkid8 жыл бұрын
+Manny Akintunde hear me out, you sound reasonable. The context of what you hear is said in the Qur'an matters a lot. The specific lines that give believers permission to wage war is bounded within the context of what was happening at the time of their revelations - our people were being discriminately killed in their homes and cities and sacred places by the "nonbelievers" referring to intolerant pagans, who dominated the region prior to Islam's birth. We are only allowed to wage war when there is no other option but to defend our livelihoods and faith. Look it up if you want to verify what I'm saying. Muslims do not want to join terrorist organizations - most were either born into it, forced into it or left with no other choice given their circumstances. We say that the terrorists are not real Muslims because they use violence outside the context of when it is permitted: in defense. Because of US involvement in the middle east, killing millions, destroying infrastructure and destabilizing the region, it's no wonder why people already prone to radical thoughts were like: "hey, this IS in defense. Let's kill THOSE terrorists" and became the terrorists we refer to today.

Terry Greene That's such an overreaction!... He's outspoken, he's not an experienced, polished politician... He's not crazy though... Only a psychopath would think about doing what you're suggesting he would do... Trump has criticized some of our generals and past presidents (rightly so in most cases)... which probably offended them so they respond by saying he's unqualified... I don't think any of them truly believe he's like an evil dictator hellbent on nuclear war...
@terrygreene41668 жыл бұрын
+voiceof reason l very much believe that generals and presidents for the most part say exactly what they mean. There position is one of authority and their thoughts are almost always well thought out. To see not just generals but former members of the Regan and Bush administration's throw their support behind a Democrat, many for the first time in their lives should give you pause. And given that the overwhelming number of those voting for Clinton are retired, your comments simply don't hold up to scrutiny.

chellappan mestri At 3.3 million, US Muslim population is half what you cite, i.e. it is 1%, not 2% I have seen the meme you laid out, which is suggesting that the higher the Muslim population, the greater the degree of state dysfunction, however this may have less to do with being Muslim than it has to other socio-political and economic factors such as poverty, disease and lack of education. A more scientific approach would be to plot the fate of a country that starts out as non-Muslim and becomes 100% Muslim, however we don't have such test cases upon which to base an empirically legitimate comparison. None of the the countries you adduce have gone from being 100% Christian or Jewish or Atheist to being 100% Muslim. I don't say this wouldn't be the case, because I don't know it would not, however you don't know for sure that it would be the case either. Personally I would rather replace religion with some other moral code that doesn't depend on magic, but that's a rather distant dream for the moment.

@DerekWilliamsMusic8 жыл бұрын
***** Pakistan was founded as an Islamic state from the days of its separation from India, so has always been Muslim. Saudi Arabia is a Wahhabi/Salafi sect, one of many warring factions within Islam, and this was introduced by pact in the 1700's. I am the last person to defend the shocking human rights abuses that occur under the governances you mention, especially the Saudis who executive LGBT people under religious law, as does Iran, where over 4,000 homosexuals have met their death at the hands of their government since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The question for me is, are Western Muslims the same as those in other sects? What would they do if they gained a majority? I'd like to quote the words of the former UK Prime Minister, David Cameron, when he said, "we accept that ISIS are not 'true Islam', but what we would like Muslims to explain to us, is HOW they're not true Islam..." since they're all reading the same holy books. Now this is not unique to Islam. In Christianity, there is even greater divergence. For example the god of the Catholic Church sends you to eternal hellfire if you remarry after a no-fault divorce. Yet the god of the Anglican Church gives his followers a free pass, in fact the entire religion was founded on the basis of the failed marriages of King Henry VIII. So, my problem is with religion per se. There is no one Muslim who can prove their claim to speak for all Muslims, any more than there is one Christian, not even the Pope himself, who can claim with certitude to speak for all Christians. We can leave aside the tens of thousands of other religions for the moment.

I am thankful that his son served in our armed forces and I am sad that his son did in combat. However, I lived in NY City during 9/11. I do not want to go through something like that ever again. I do think we need to protect our borders and interview foreigners from Muslim countries. There is nothing wrong with protecting the sovereignty of a Nation. The Muslims are offended when we want to question their motives coming to a country that is so opposite of their beliefs. Most Muslims do not care for our Western practices. Even when they come here they do not usually adapt to our culture. They keep theirs. I'm not saying that is all bad but I still think we need to be careful. I'm not for a complete and total ban but I am for playing it safe to make our Nation safe against possible future attacks.

Elizabeth B; you have every right to be concerned after what you witnessed in NYC, what we all witnessed - but please don't live in fear, and please don't lump together all Muslims for the actions of a few... Just look at our history; the Japanese bombed us on Dec 7th - but did that give us the right to round-up over 100,000 people of Japanese ancestry and put them in Internment Camps?Should Jews today hold accountable Germans of today?I liked that Hillary referenced what FDR said after Dec 7th - "that the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself"...
@elizabethb43328 жыл бұрын
19ces78 I understand what you are saying. There was a time when I never even thought of the Muslim religion or the Middle East. Times have sure changed. I don't want to ban anyone but I do want us to be more diligent about our immigration policies. The basic difference between the Japanese and the Germans was that you sort of knew your "enemy". Today you could be in a mall, restaurant, working in an office building or sitting on a plane and be a victim of terrorism. Terrorism that still shocks because it could be someone you have lived near or worked with for a long time. I don't think Hillary's idea of a borderless United States is a good idea. It's inviting anyone to come in and expect amnesty for whatever reason. I do think our immigration laws need to be more streamlined and not take as long to process.
@19ces788 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth B - you're correct that it's difficult to identify who is a Terrorist... Let's not forget that Timothy McVeigh was a clean-cut white male, Christian, and Veteran who up until 9/11 was responsible for the single worst terrorist act on US soil when he blew-up the US Federal Bldg in Oklahoma City killing 168 and injuring over an additional 680... I choose to judge individuals on their own actions; not by lumping them together by race, gender, or religion... I hope you will join me, God Bless...
