Hi dear. 69yo ARMY here. RM is the ambassador for the Korean Ministry of Defence's program to recover the remains of fallen soldiers (from the Korean war) and return them to their families. He also plays the saxophone in the military band and that was him playing "Dynamite" on the saxophone when Jin got out of the Army. And speaking of Jin...he was chosen to be a torch bearer in the Summer Olympics in France.

One of the many relatable things about Namjoon-shi is that he is a gold medalist in over-thinking. But anyway, I was devastated the first time I watched his Love Letters reaction, when he said that he still doesn't know how to love himself. That's why it was such a relief to hear what he said at the end of his Mini and Moni Music listening party with Jimin. Right at the end, 31:09, he's addressing his future (now current) self, and he says "Love you!" and throws himself a finger-heart. Jimin is starting to talk over him, so I almost missed it. But it's there. I get misty-eyed just thinking about it! Love yourself, RM! Love yourself, Lonely Dad! Love yourself, ARMY yeorobun! 💜

I have had a heavy feeling about RM for a while. I don't know how to love myself either, I am 63! I worry about him. Seems very depressed and just exhausted with life. Boy, I understand that feeling. Not just the words and things he says.... lots of love and prayers needed for RM.

I am convinced that in a live when RM said 'all these shits'.... that he had been talking to Bang Si Hyuk and already knew about all the shit that was about to hit the fan with Min Hee Jin. In the plan they talked about in the court case. Part of it was releasing private medical and other information( it did not say who about). If that guess is right it would explain why RM is always so stressed at this time. He takes protecting the members seriously. You have to remember what minor things had destroyed careers in Korea. Not knowing who that was a threat to, of what it could be about... Well you can imagine. Plus it would be totally in character to not tell any other member what he knew. Protecting them just as they were going to have the stress of going in the army. It would explain why it came out in his talk with Jimin that he had kept away from them for 18 months. Given his propensity for honesty and letting things slip and how well they know him. Well it would explain that. What I can say is every photo after he has been in the army he has looked so much better. I think RM is a very/ almost too responsible person. He would feel awful about potentially being not able to protect his group. As it is was the plummeting Hybe shares their personal fortunes took a hammer. I have no doubt they will rebound stronger. They always have. As for your own self doubt. The messages we are given as a child can affect our whole lives. In Bible class a woman helped me. I was criticising myself and deprecating my work. It was a trait then. She told me that I was very arrogant to expect perfection of myself. That I was human who are all faulty and born in sin, yet Jesus loved us enough to die for us. Who was I to think my opinion on how good or loveable I was ..... was of greater value than that of Christ. Even if you are not a Christian its something to think about.

You need to watch the 2022 Festa dinner to hear them talk about the “hiatus”. RM would be the first to tell you he overthinks everything. And he’s indicated he has had therapy to help. Unlike other agencies, Big Hit supported getting mental health treatment.

RM is less weepy than the others (said with respect). He's more observant and internal with his emotions. Jin going into the military hit him super hard for personal reasons. Jin has been RM's strength for years and especially behind the scenes. RM has been heavily criticized over the years by the public and media and even when he's had new stuff come out, it would be terrifying - he was an innocent torn down and he's only now beginning to be able to enjoy a release vs getting nauseus from the nerves and waiting for the attacks to start pouring in.

I think if we heard RM speak today, he would be much more at ease.There was so much stress prior to joining the military. They were all unsure if ARMY would truly wait for them and support their solo work as they can't even personally promote it.ARMY isn't going anywhere!!! 💫💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💫

Namjoon /RM is such an amazing man, When he speaks we all listen, he speaks from the heart. Yes, I do understand the part of not loving yourself. BTS came into my life and RM and BTS has shown me how to love myself, it is hard because for way too long I have lost who I am, only recently I have made a point to love myself and the first step for me is to find out who I am, so yes I am on my journey. I am 54 years old and finally taken the step after 40 years to find me and love me, all thanks to those amazing 7 young men who I discovered nearly 2 years ago. Our Namjoon nearly always has such a tight rein on his emotions. He rarely breaks down, so when he does (as he did during the 2022 Festa dinner), it breaks our hearts! This video, though, very nearly choked him up. If you watch his eyes gloss over and the way he keeps swallowing and clearing his throat as he's talking, you can tell he was very moved. I again want to thank all the ARMYs who participated in this project. Lucky Lissy even got a "wow" and a mention by name! It's such a beautiful tribute... and I want to be a part of one, too! Namjoon makes me worry and cry the most. He is always talking about being LONELY and finding it very difficult to love himself and what he does at times. Before going into the military he went like a lot, something he didn't do very often, and as I watched him, I looked at his eyes and just kept hoping he wasn't hurting the way his eyes said he was. As some one who has been fighting depression since I can remember, I see that depression very clearly. He would get on and talk to us, mostly in english, asking everyone how they are and if they are staying healthy. Always having great advice about how to take care of physical and mental health. I hope he's handling his position ok in the military. He's always the support for others and gives us hugs through the screen, but I think what he really wants is a real long hug with some one an just cry on their shoulder until he feels some relief. Hope he finds that one day. Jin also called being in the military a VACATION and that the rest of his members will be coming back from vacation before you know it. Just one more year... such a lot time...

Yeah, poor Namjoon was really going through it. :( I really really hope creating that second album helped him process through it and heal! Also, since you're newer ARMY I'd recommend reacting to the 2022 FESTA dinner. That's where they first announce their break and talk about their thoughts and emotions. It's a hard watch and makes me cry every time, but it's needed to fully understand WHY they went on this break and why it's so important for the future of BTS.

Great video as always and I really appreciated your thoughts. Just to give you some context that I think is important, the Festa before they started military enlistment RM was the one who announced a "Hiatus" and the mainstream media absolutely went nuts with it announcing BTS is breaking up especially because he got emotional and cried a little when he talked about it. But it was partly a mistranslation and partly an overreaction on the part of the media and he was extremely frustrated and angry that something that he said had that kind of reaction. So that's why when he's reading the speech by army he really focuses on when she says trust their words and I think also that's where part of his frustration comes from in the new album, that as the leader he can't even have a moment without it being completely overblown. Like literally the things he says raises or lowers hybe stock prices since they went public. Thats a lot of pressure. So im glad these armies let him know no matter what the outside sees, we see him and his true intent.

At the last 2022 Festa, which they do every year as a diner with ARMY - RM struggled emotionally - I cry every time I watch it. He says a lot of stuff that has now come to fruition that couldn't be said or expressed. Even at the showing of the last songs J-hope tells us to trust them and their words. So many times BTS - RM and Suga especially have made statements way back then that have now come to be true. Things like, "I'll Prove It to You" this was sad to all the naysayers about their career of success... thus we now have "PROOF" a collection of hits and memorable songs. Suga always predicted the awards they would win... they now have over 700 awards from across the world. We are still waiting for a more prestigious Grammy, but by this time ARMY doesn't care and because of all the rejection, BTS will not be their puppets anymore to make the show watched with great numbers. I believe the next - is going to be telling as they now all have become men of honor - and they have kept their word. There is another song that ARMY has written it came out during the Festa this past June. I can not find it but maybe someone out there has it. RM seems reserved to me in this reaction. He was going through tough times trying to figure out his life and he was unsure about himself due to the military fiasco put on by the government mostly - he had no time to be a boy, a teenager, and now he had to man up getting ready for military and scared that they will fade away and lose momentum like many other boybands in kpop after the military. But they are unique and the waymakers for this generation and have broken all the records and old ways and, now they are not KPOP anymore to me - they are world-renowned music artist that have broken barriers and have more followers than any artist could dream of - they are IT!

I like it when Namjoon rubs his head... I looked it up, it is done when a person is thinking there are a lot of emotions happening from uncertainty, embarrassment, vulnerability, and then to positivity - he is working the brain here! and, you can sense it as he is speaking feeling a little unworthy to even expect we will hang in there until BTS returns. In expressing himself he is very careful of the words he uses - and is very concerned that their military service time away will stop BTS' momentum when they return. He is a good communicator - here you can sense the weight of what he carries on his shoulders as a leader of BTS for what comes next. For a young man, this is a lot of stress. I hope he has seen our love and confidence in them while he is now in the military. He is the leader of BTS - he has worked hard and done amazing things alone to make BTS known and successful and at the recording of this is not sure of it all. He is pressed. But we know already it's BTS forever as Suga has stated... into their old age and we the ARMY will be there with them.

Plus trying to be best for BTS and Army, trying to write, produce, perform so many songs, I feel bad for him alot of times. He needs his solo mixtapes and albums so he can keep his sanity. I always appreciate and take to heart what the guys, especially Namjoon says about what Army means to them. My sincere hope is that they know what they truly mean to us. I'm sure you've heard it before Dad but yes, BTS took a huge part in bringing me back from a dark place when they found me in 2015. I was so detached from reality after losing my mother and my baby boy. God and my daughters brought me back to reality but BTS also helped bring happiness and most especially music back to my soul. I will always be grateful for them. They also helped bridge a gap that I had with my 3 girls by uniting us closer thru taking them to events and concerts Eventually I started taking them to other kpop groups concerts. Even tho I'm strictly Army, I enjoy doing that with them, that's one way we build memories. So I can relate to you and your neice about becoming closer by way of BTS and having them in common. there is a new song out that was released during this past Festa... I have to find it to watch it, but I heard it was good. The ARMY are the vocalists just like this one. You better believe these songs will show up in the future at the concerts. Yes, it's good but it needs a bridge to break it up... but it's good. The girls on the scroll are the singers and they had their names on this too. I think RM likes the love, but he was going through a lot of emotional crud with this working out all the kinks, and you can see it, he is still angry over the treatment by the government, the rudeness of people talking about them, and just dealing with trying to find himself. It's an attitude, if you ever watch their live diner Festa 2022 before they took a break you will Namjoon crying and expressing his stress and feeling out there. I weep every time I watch it because I understand having to be the leader and growing up in the eyes of everyone watching... there is no time to be yourself or allow any mistakes to be successful in an Asian market. Here in the West we are more forgiving and get it but the pressure to be a success is the same. The young idols always have a breaking point and it gets played out before the world. So he did well, but you can see he is a little reserved, probably wondering how he could've impacted ARMY in the state of mind he was in during this. He is better now since expressing himself in the last 2 albums and HE's Back to the real Namjoonie. RM is just a stage name.

Namjoon isn't my bias... he's like my twin. So I understand RM well. We have a very similar personality. I study everything and I'm very analytical but creative. I'm an intovert who has to act like an extrovert in my work. It used to be that I rarely cried in front of anyone. I was the one to always hold everything together when others fell apart. I'm the caretaker.I saw that as my duty. I certainly didn't love myself or knew that was even a thing for a long time. BTS put me on that path. Am I there yet? Oh heck no. I'm still that person trying to figure out everything. But I'm closer. I'm glad RM is working on it now because it took a whole bunch of traumatic things to be dumped on me from ages 48 to 52... Such a short time to lose 4 loved ones, 2 homes (fire & flood) and several other things for me to have my walls broken down some. And I was still trying to build them back up while being trapped under the rubble... but BTS' music filtered through and pulled me out. Now even stupid or good things make me cry. While I still don't always love myself... I know to try at least. And I think that is where RM is at. He knows to try. It's our job to keep reminding him.... and each other too.
