These guys were my favourite Aussie band in the 80's. Their live shows were fantastic and they were just a bit different which made it all the more worthwhile. Still listen and sing along at every opportunity. Bloody good times, whether surfing the West or East coasts of Vic and just loving life. The 80's were without a doubt a great time to be alive.

Hunters always had songs that were lyrically a bit different from others, but musically they were always a force of nature. This early album is a classic rough and ready one, with tracks like Say Goodbye, Throw your arms around me and Everything's on fire - which reflected the passion of their live shows. Their further albums got a slicker production to them and became chart topping anthems. But their live shows never lost this angst. The brass section was that one element that stood them apart from most and they kept it all the way through.

The Hunters are brilliant, the singer Mark Seymour is the brother of Nick from Crowded House btw! I get a bit of Talking Heads vibe with this one!

Love H & C . Mark Seymour, the lead singer, has a unique tone in his voice. In Australia 'bars' are upmarket smaller drinking places. The Aussie 'pub' (abbreviation for public house which serves alcohol for consumption) is what you really mean. Some of these pubs/hotels/sports clubs had huge venues /rooms for bands to play in, with big crowds attending and drinking in a social situation.
