I served on this in the Lebanon as an UN soldier. I was a gunner. Very weak engine, even the turbo version. It was definitely designed for the flat Netherlands. The Lebanon’s coastal mountain landscape took it to its limits. Also as far as the brakes where concerned. Furthermore the troop transport section was very cramped. A good gunner position though and it steered like a race car. I will always remember smelling orange blossoms while rolling downhill towards the coast. Every time I smell something similar I go back to that very moment.

Thanks you, I served the Dutch army in the early eighties. We used the ambulance version of the YP. 12painfbat .

I'm guessing the non driven wheel arrangement makes the necessary clearance for engine installation? Have you covered military landrovers? :)

It looks more like what nazi Germany would come with a wheeled APC design with Dutch Assistance if Germany would have won ww2 to replace old Half tracks.
