Yeah, they're great. It's a shame there aren't more live orchestral versions of the music from the soundtrack though, would love to hear Outlands, since that's also almost purely orchestral. C.L.U. and Recognizer would be awesome as well, but that would require some sort of synth together with the orchestra, but nothing wrong with that, can be played live as well after all.
@PragueFilmOrchestra8 жыл бұрын
It`s always matter of availability of score and sheet music, but we are doing our best to bring something fresh as often as possible. Thanks a lot for appreciation. :)
@nicholastidemann93848 жыл бұрын
Ah, didn't expect an answer from the orchestra itself! Fantastic job on this piece, absolutely, and of course I realize it's not easy to produce. Was in no way taking a stab at you guys, merely lamenting the fact that there are so few live renditions of such a great soundtrack. Anyway, if you're doing more, I would definitely suggest Outlands. I personally think it's one of the best compositions on the soundtrack, if not the best, and it sounds like it's almost purely orchestral. Keep up the great work!

To elaborate on my earlier comment, I was particularly impressed by the use of analog instruments, to emulate the sounds produced electronically. The violins for the low introductory approach, the use of flute for the beep effect, and the harp stood out. I think this demonstrates how well electronic and conventional instruments can complement each other, when both are used skillfully.

I didn't know that this had ever been covered in a soundtrack evening concert ... I've always loved this movie and the score and this is the most powerful moment in the film and the score. Sadly we never got the promised follow up due to Disney politics and the fact that the movie was poorly received by general audiences at the time (and so was a true sequel to Tron!) but it may crop up somewhere somehow. As it is, this is a perfect ending. I was very happy at the time that the follow up stayed true to the tone and ideas of the original, and continued the metaphysical underpinnings of the story. Kevin Flynn went from being the son of God to becoming God himself, with Sam now in the 'Jesus' role, but it is still Kevin who makes the final sacrifice at this pieces end. However, it shamefully took me a few viewings before I understood that in this scenario C.L.U was Satan the fallen Archangel who could not see what his creator could in the perfection of the ISO beings who sprang from his world naturally. But a great piece for a great moment in a great film in a great series performed by a great orchestra ... All in all Great!
