No only if they leave message. If you put sd card in the outdoor unit you can check it with the smartpss app

Is the 2 MP image of this Gen 3 decidely better than the 1.3 MP image of the Gen 1?

I think he mis spoke. I'm not sure if dahua makes a model that has a camera but as far as I know it's one way video and 2 way audio. The door station would need a screen also to do that and the station inside would need a camera attached.
