Maybe it's because it's been a STRESSFUL few years in our world but, watching this for the first time in decades, I found myself _really moved_ by how concerned and empathetic Stewart was for his nephew. We'd all benefit from an Uncle Stewart letting us know that we're okay, and the bad things in our lives we didn't cause aren't our fault. And y'know somethin'...? ...Chicken Dumplin'!

Sad fact: Macaulay Culkin's father was such a tirant during his guest appearances on SNL that he forced him to memorize every line for every sketch. He wouldn't allow show runners to provide cue cards for the kid. Scripts are given with only a week to rehearse along with the occasional rewrite, sometimes hours before going live. It's just messed up because that's a lot of pressure and stress to put on a child. He really was so talented.

I've heard stories about all of the really horrible stuff Macaulay Culkin had to go through in his childhood. I thought I had a screwed up upbringing but it's like they say there's always a bigger fish in the sea there's always someone that has it harder than you do. I feel really bad for him and considering what he had to overcome in his life and now he apparently has a beautiful child that he absolutely adores I am very happy for him. I've struggled with addiction for most of my adult life and only just recently realized that I've been addicted. It's very hard at times. I will say one more thing though, I never had any validation until just now about the whole guess what chicken butt thing. That was something that was going around my school in the 90s must have been between like, 94 and 99. The joke was guess what? Chicken butt. Guess why? Chicken thigh. It was stupid but that was definitely a thing where I grew up in the 90s kids were saying that all around school. I feel old.

There is a Stuart Smalley SNL sketch where he's at his family's Christmas dinner and it is absolutely hilarious. The comedy in that sketch was something I could really relate to and like all brilliant comedy, there's an element of truth that makes it that much more funny. That's why I came to this but I wish that sketch was here. Anybody remember that? It was so amazing - my favorite holiday vignette. Or maybe I'm getting the character mixed up with another. Anyone know, let me know! Next up, looking for Jay Leno's cat's New Years Eve Party as seen on the Tonight Show - that too was priceless!
