How can you people not see that this woman is using Annette and Gloria for content? She doesnt care one bit for them.. She and her husband were living on the streets and needed a place to live. They didnt come there to help, they came there to use! They are trying to makes buck off of their family's back. Adult protective services needs to be call. The poor mother is being abused. Stop treating Joy like she is doing a good thing.. shes not.

Annette is no longer Gloria's kid....she is Gloria's adult daughter. I'm curious if the schizoaffective disorder came on because of the meth use?...It is not Gloria's job to care for her as she did when Annette was a child. Gloria needs her own help. We all know that you cannot help someone else without first helping yourself. Stop criticizing and start understanding.

Gloria also has disorders. She needs to be looked after separately from Annette. You don’t need to bully an elderly woman. Something is clearly wrong with HER too! Your husband has a duty to at least call adult protection services because she’s not even caring for herself.

Instead of criticizing the women maybe get in the kitchen with her and help teach her. She is obviously suffering as well, and is also worthy of your compassion. I’m a mother to a one year old baby girl, my husband‘s uncle is a schizophrenic and so is his brother. They have support we don’t have to step in, but you’re one hell of an angel. I’ve already prayed for you twice today that you get blessings from God. as a mother and someone familiar with schizophrenia I could never take food away from my baby.

End of the day, Gloria is mom. I think joy is doing her best to not step on Gloria’s toes while still stepping in to fill in the gap in care. I might be wrong. Just the impression. But I get it, it seems like Gloria should just be left to function on her own and not participate in her daughter’s care….narcissists are hard to control like that though

We pay the mortgage, Gloria totaled her car in 2011 so we let her use our 2004 Mercedes until she destroyed that car. So we had to buy another vehicle.

I think Gloria needs help and probably should not be cooking in the kitchen. I think Gloria does this out of past habits or to feel normal again. She’s trying to prove something to you and her daughter, by cooking. I think she wants appreciated but she doesn’t know how to act to earn appreciation. She made mistakes in her past and is vulnerable, now. She’s at your mercy for some things and for someone who used to be fully independent, that’s a hard reality to face and cope with. I hope when I’m 81 there’s people in my life that loves me enough to want to help me, if I need it.

We all know Annette doesn’t eat every single thing you cook or bring her. But that’s because she loves her mom so much as what I’ve seen and heard. So why do people feel like?
