Amaka, you are amazing, unbelievable! I am Nigerian and I lived in Tamale for a year out of a total of ten I spent in Ghana. I enjoyed my stay in Tamale. I recall the greetings - Densba (morning), antréé (afternoon) and anumwula (evening). The response in each case is Nnaa! You bring back my memories of Tamale. I tried to pick a bit of Dagbani but it was not easy. I lived in Kukuo and recall other parts of Tamale - Sakasaka quarters, Russian bungalows, Vitting, Naa Luro Estate, etc. But Amaka, don't tell me you live in Tamale!

The sponge reminded me so many things, not only in the village. I was living in the city and that was what my mum used to bath me, now we can't find it anymore. We easily forget good things our grandparents thought us and jump to something that we don't know. The sponge and wood tooth brush was the best. We should go back Africans (sankofa).
