Why choose a rhythm over routine? How to get started and what our daily rhythm is. Inspired by the book simplicity parenting, this lifestyle change can be found at the centre of the Waldorf philosophy implemented within the home an Steiner school settings.

I’d be interested in an updated rhythm video and a bedtime routine video. Your videos are so inspirational!

This was SO helpful, thank you!! I'm starting to try implementing a rhythm for my own 3.5 year old and I really struggle with it. It seems that all of our days are different, but I like how you explained finding those moments that do stay the same every day. Great advice, and I really appreciate you sharing your own daily rhythm too!

I do not know how your days go but I am pretty sure you and your kid wake up, wash, have breakfast, then you do what you do and then again you have lunch, perhaps nap, then again you do what you do, and you go to bed. I think it is very difficult humans to live without rythm because these basic yhings keep us alive. My point is - I am sure your ruthm is there and much better than you believe it to be :)

This was great thanks! New to waldorf as my friend introduced me. It's nice to hear an example and have a community. I do feel rhythms help. Lately it's been tough with my 17 month old and almost 4 year old. I think what I need to enforce is quiet or nap time after lunch. I hope it works out!

Thank you so helpful. yes I notice our rhythms change depending on weather also on my son’s tiredness. Some days he wants to nap earlier than other days and sprinkled here and there he doesn’t nap at all. He’s 3.5 also some days he wants to be low key and really doesn’t want to go anywhere

lovely thank you. Your 3.5yr old sounds like a dream. My daughter is 4.5 and it’s still a challenge to get her to play independently. Perhaps more rhythm will help.

Lovvvvve this!! New to this philosophy and curious what it says about going on vacation or whenever you need to break from your daily rhythm?

Also, how would I start implementing a rhythm based on Waldorf for my 6 month old? ❤️

These are both great ideas for more video! But briefly, we definitely drop most the rhythm of we were on holiday but hold some of the benchmarks like book after breakfast ect, some little things could definitely be carried over into vacation but definitely not needed, perhaps only if child felt anxious or displaced. We like to switch up our rhythm with the change of seasons or if I feel child is leading something regularly I'll add into rhythm. Hope this helps. I can dive deeper in another vid perhaps xx
