One of my favourite handmade Waldorf toys is "Schneckenband". Idk if the English name is actually snail band but it's just a very long strip that you crochet. It's super easy to make and great as a first project if you just learn to crochet. Also kids can play with it in so many different ways!

Would love to see you talk about how you deal with people (well-meaning family members etc) give toy gifts that don't particularly align with Waldorf (eg. loud blinking plastic toys with cartoon characters all over..)

I just put those things right into a basket into another room (I don’t open them lol) and then I give them away to our local daycare or re gifting! For birthdays I always include a birthday list on Amazon for people to catch the vibe lol!! Also I talk about it a lot with family so they know, just casually how much our children appreciate certain toys ect just low key and then they think it’s their idea

Hi, Lyla(hope I am spelling that right 😀), I am a mom of 4 yr. old twins and I am new to Waldorf. My dream is to have an at home Waldorf kindergarten for my kids, as well as a couple other children that will be part of it. I just recently found your channel, and am enjoying these getting started series videos! You are really inspiring. (And really beautiful, as well!) Thank you for doing these. I am surprised you don't have more subscribers!

Thankyou so much it's so great to see more and more people learning about Waldorf. Aw how amazing would that be! That's how most Steiner schools began, through small groups of children and parents teaching together. Such a community vibe!

Can you do a video on your books for your kids? 💛

Thank you. What books would you recommend to get started ? I am not home schooling but would love to have a Waldorf home structure. I have started with a rhythm, and now I want to start reading Waldorf inspired books, like the root children etc, as the bring such a deep connection to nature and spirit. I have also started getting a few grapat toys which I haven’t given my baby yet…. I feel the toys will have more meaning Once we get him started on the books…. I am very exited. Happy to have found you on KZbin 😊

Aw we love the root children, Elsa's books will keep you going! There's a series called Pippa and pelle my kids love and the author has some beautiful books in her collection. Brambly hedge aswell is great. Perhaps I could make a video with suggestions. In terms of the toys they will mean different things at different ages which is what's great! Great to have you here!

New sub here. This was great. I’ve always been thinking about incorporating some Waldorf into our homeschool. I also have a channel and right now it’s mainly about homeschooling. It would be fun to be friends and connect here 😊
