Can I just say I have been doing this now for two weeks. It's now my homepage. Missed the past three days, but my voice has really improved. It is so effortless for me to get power when I'm singing and to actually sing on key. And to go higher, my tone is richer... everything about my voice is better. No tension anymore. It's just gone... I have tried for YEARS since I was a child to improve my singing, and this really has worked for me. First i worked on my breathing before doing this. Thanks so much.

The first day trying this my voice sounded horrible. My voice would crack so much throughout the entire video. This is now the second day, my voice isn't cracking hardly at all and seems a lot louder. This seems to be working! I will keep you updated on my progress. :) My sounds louder still I don’t see much else progress week 2 no more progress no far When I do this daily my voice is louder and there is progress I’m just not where I’d like to be with my voice yet
@onedirectionlover3174 жыл бұрын
So what exactly are you looking for / how are you measuring "progress"? Maybe try watching some more detailed videos about technique (like from Dr. Dan's Vocal Essentials channel) to learn about things ranging from lifting the soft palette to belting properly to switching smoothly between different registers. There's a billion things to choose from as the focus of a vocal practice, whether it's breath control, pitch, resonance, etc. And sometimes you need to drill quite a bit. Of course, you're right improvement will take time (it can take months or years), but just some things worth keeping in mind to better focus your practice and maybe speed up improvement. Some of it is going to be "can I execute this at all", and then the rest will be "can I maintain this", with the latter requiring gradual and consistent strengthening of voice-related muscles.

I love to sing, I always did. I can feel that my voice kind of improves when I stop being too self-conscious, my voice relaxes and it sounds better. Either way, when I thought I was improving, my now ex started shaming me pretty bad everytime I would sing, even with my voice really low. Funny thing is that he started doing that after I complimented - yes, complimented - him on his voice. Well, that hit me pretty bad, I didn't wanna have to stop singing even if I sucked. Now I feel more hopeful, I also learned that I have some breathing issues, so that probably got in the way as well. I'm gonna do these exercises (with my face on a pillow first lol) and pray to God that He'll help me get better. I don't wanna be famous and make millions, I just wanna be able to sing to my husband and my kids one day. If you read all of that, thank you and cheer for me :) sorry if that was tmi

Your singing lessons are truly different from what I know from KZbin. You are the first one I've seen to do those stretching exercises. And you are the first one who said that there is nothing wrong with feeling tired! Everyone just tells you shouldn't strain your voice, but it's important to understand that feeling tired exists for the vocal chords, too, and it's not the same as hurting. I've heard so many vocal teachers say it should feel effortlessly, but it just doesn't when you usually don't sing every day for 15 minutes. People who don't talk a lot would also feel more tired in the vocal chords after an exercise than someone who talks all day.

@dianeshepherdlyricsoprano13947 жыл бұрын
Tiny Elephant Nightcore. Yes, it DID, and still DOES, work - definitely for me. I have always loved singing but didn't know how to breathe from the diaphragm (stomach area) and so my voice continually broke, cracked and I could NOT hold notes because I hadn't enough breath. I found this site in mid July of this year after looking up how to use the diaphragm. But you must practice and exercise your voice daily to see improvements. I can now hold notes for a long stretch, I can sing a variety of songs (although my favourite genre is musical theatre). I can even manage some light opera now. Those categories may not be for you, but whatever types of songs you enjoy singing, just be patient and if you are determined, you should start to see and feel those improvements. Another thing is to remember to find your own voice and never try to imitate someone else even though you may think they are wonderful. Another lesson that Anna does is to find out which category of singer you are. I hope my comments have helped you and if I can give any further advice, I will. Also remember of course, that Anna is brilliant and she will help you if she can.
@dianeshepherdlyricsoprano13947 жыл бұрын
Tiny Elepihant Nightcore. Hello. I think Anna would confirm that they should be done every day, but perhaps if you can only manage once a week, it would be better than not at all. Perhaps you can do some singing after doing your weekly practice, after all, some voice warm up is needed before singing. I don't know how well the practices will work for just once per week, but at least you will be doing SOME voice work. Maybe you can learn some of the exercises, and do them whilst you are doing something else....? I don't know whether you could manage that. If you get to know some of the lessons you will not have to use time sitting at your PC, but it's better in the long run if you can relax whilst doing them. Hope you can work something out.
@JC-Hellmode7 жыл бұрын
It works for me and I believe it still works, I don't really hate my voice as much anymore. To be honest I'm still surprised at how well this works and I even started doing the alternative daily exercise too. I've been doing this a little over a month now daily with diligence and I only missed the exercise a few days so my progress was pretty fast. I'll be honest there are some days I do the exercise while I'm doing other things like read up on the news or practice my guitar cause it does get boring some days so I would highly recommend doing the alternative daily exercise too.

Tiny yes. I’m sure once a week is enough over a course of one year. Keep at it and in a year you’ll be enjoying the act of singing.

so i would consider my voice pretty sucky, i can sound like a little kid sometimes. but i heard its possible to anyone to learn to sing, its just training mussels. my dream is to become a recording artist and I'll do whatever it takes to get there. if i do this everyday will i see some improvement? and how long till i do?
@BlueBeardBard10 жыл бұрын
According to the text with the video (you have to hit the "show more" button to see all of it) Anna (Ms. Verba) saw improvement within six months. Seems like a reasonable amount of time to devote to moving towards a dream. You can do it!

Naomi Fierro How are you getting on Naomi? Do you sing in public at all?
@NaomiNicole710 жыл бұрын
Verba Lessons hi, this is same person different account. Im not sure how im getting along. Will these exercises strengthen my muscles and make it easier to sing? i feel a slight difference since i have started about 2 moths ago and i do it at least 4 times a week. However im still convinced i dont sound good, no matter how easy or hard it is to get it out. And i play guitar, and starting in march i will be visiting hospitals and places to play and sing for people with my friend. I have guitar tutorials on my channel where i sing, maybe you could look at it and possibly spot the issue? Thanks for your time :) nice to know someone is willing to help

Thank you so much for this. I've got a singing audition at school for a play I really want to be in! I started to panic because I just couldn't sing! When I came across this I was so grateful. I have been practicing this every day of the week for 2 weeks and my audition is next week. I can't believe how much more confident I am and how much stronger my voice is! Thank you !

How much time per day should a person spend on vocal exercises per day? I am not a beginner.. I have over strained my voice before..so what is a good amount of time to warm up and also sing songs? Thanks,,
@VerbaVocal8 жыл бұрын
+Michael Craig thanks for commenting. Everyone is different and if you have had Vocal strain in the past then you are the best person to judge how much is too much. The best thing is to work the voice while is feels good, healthy and strong, but the minute you begin to feel pain or the similar strain sensations that you have had in the past then stop. Perhaps start with just 15 minutes a day and build it up.

Alec Spencer Hey can you go to my channel and watch and listen to all my videos. Tell me what you think and please be honest with me i really want and need this. If it's bad then thumbs down and give your honesty of how good or bad it is. Tell me the good and the bad idk how bad my singing is but it's horrible to me .Also i've already train for a long time in singing
@GolfHub.9 жыл бұрын
Alec Spencer well if your new its because like any other muscle when u start using it properly for the first time or if u havnt used it in a long time it takes time to get use to what exercises you do. eg when u go to the gym the first couple of times your muscles will feel soar as hell but over time your muscles get use to the new exercise and less strain will occur just like in singing

Julieta Dolan Excuse me for not having seen your comment sooner. To answer your question, I hadn’t singing since like 15 years ago (when I was 6). So I am new to singing without being new to singing, if that makes sense.

hello, um okay so i was struggling a bit with that scratching feeling you talked about in that child like voice exercice ,and i know you said that's due to not doing it properly , so basically can you explain to me exactly how to do it the 100% right way
@VerbaVocal8 жыл бұрын
Start trying it really quietly, and place it high in the nose - aiming the sound out of the forehead. Once you find an easy place then increase the volume. Try that and let me know how you get on.
