Made me very happy that you mentioned fairly about his time in Galatasaray and you did it from the perspective of a Galatasaray fan. Almost brought tears to my eyes. You are a great storyteller. As Galatasaray fans, we will always worship Sneijder. He was such a class player. I will always remember his name with the screams of the spectators. His 10 goals in a season was equal to another players 40 goals, because all of his goals were decisive. When all hope was lost Sneijder would appear out of nowhere and score a magical goal, and not against easy opponents, against world giants like juve and real madrid. On top of that he geniunly loved the fans.

The best team does not always win. I am dutch. I do remember the Netherlands overperformed a bit during this WK run. Even do we had some incredible players like Sneijder, van der Vaart, van Persie and Robben. Having such a low population number as a nation. You can’t fill up all positions with incredible players like Brazil could. Comparing the Netherlands to France currently. France can fill up 4 squads and equal the Netherlands in competing strength. Like Portugal. There are not a lot of small/medium sized nations that end up that high on world football rankings with good consistency.

I'm not Dutch, but aside from my own country, I have always wanted the Netherlands to win just one major competition in the last 30 years. For such a small country to produce so many world class players is more than surprising, it's amazing. I look back at the semi final of Euro 2000 playing against a 10 man Italy side, missing a penalty and feeling like this was their best opportunity to win a major tournament. Others might say the 2010 world cup final, but tbh Spain were always going to win that game one way or another. But even with all this top class talent, there have been occasions where the Netherlands have failed to even qualify for some world cups and Euro's, which makes no sense at all. Balance is key, without VVD they just don't look like a team who can keep clean sheets. If's, but's and maybe's. If RVN had not have gotten injured, maybe they would have won Euro 2000? If VVD had not spent two thirds of the season out injured, they would have gone further in the Euro's. But anyway, the home of Trance and the home of total football, what a fantastic country. I pick watching a Netherlands match over any other nation (other than England) because I love watching them play. One country who you cannot say are boring to watch, are Holland. The best second half performance I have ever seen, was that demolition of Spain in the 2014 world cup. I'm yet to see anything more impressive than that.

Eto’o had defensive roles and the only one who didn’t come back on defense was Milito. It was not luck or a mistake from Barca. Inter was simply better. I am saying fantasizing instead of dreaming, because whicever Football Manager game i played, it was simply impossible to transfer Wesley to Galatasaray even if i added a second manager even if acceped the offer from Galatasaray. Even if i fine Wesley off his wages. And to be honest it was quite realistic at the time it was not a realistic scenario back then. Back in summer 2008 i remember watching Netherlands - France match admiring Wesley's characteristic dished goal from outside of the penalty area. I remember praising Wesley to my first girl friend ever. She was relatively in Football she was also impressed my Robin Van Persie. Years past Wesley signed for my club in the same year of my passing beloved father. Van persie to our arch rivals my first girlfriend's club. After a decade of admiration, once or twice in a week it was a total therapy to see Wesley in Galatasaray shirt, it was a get away from my life's sad reality back then. And coincidence about RVP helped me remember about times when my father was healthy and be more grateful to memories then sorry about life's only one reality. Thank you Wesley. İki gözüm.

When he played at Al-Gharafa he even funded a training camp for the entire DHSC squad for 6 days in Qatar and let them play a match against his then current club at the end. Last year instead of doing an internship to become a coach at a pro club, he chose to take the internship from his older brother at the amateur club just so he could be back where it all started, just in a different role. He won the silver ball and the bronze boot for his outstanding performances while Messi had only 1 assist and 1 motm award. The next important factor is the Champions league where Sneijder scored 3 goals and gave 6 assist while Messi scored 8 goals. (Both in 11 games) Sneijder was named 'fans motm' in the Champions League final, completing the treble for the first and only time an Italian football club achieved this. He also won UEFA Club Midfielder of the Year. Just face it that Messi won the ballon dór in 2010 by the coach vote and the captain vote. (Both of these vote categories were removed because everyone agreed that these votes were biased). Messi was not even counted among the top 3 in the journalists' vote, which is the most impartial voting system. In conlusion: The ballon dór should've went either towards Iniesta or Sneijder in 2010.

In 2010, Snijder scored and assisted less than 15 goals for Inter Milan. Yet, they think he was better than Mess who scored over 40. Gtfoh

Messi was greatly helped by being in arguably the strongest club side of all time, with Xavi and Iniesta etc. providing opening passes/assists for forwards. A lot of the La Liga games in that time were sure to be won by Barcelona ahead of the game starting by a few goals. Messi wasn't as dominant when he came to PSG. This is something that everyone knows.

Sneijder was a really wonderful player on his day, albeit also a frustrating one to watch as, despite his obvious talent, he was inconsistent at times and not always the most dynamic or hard-working player, but he was a great playmaker, set-piece taker, and a wonderful passer and striker of the ball from distance with either foot. Although Messi had been great for Barca with his goalscoring and performances, and there had been some other great performances from the likes of Milito, Iniesta, and Forlán (even Xavi), I still feel like Sneijder's preformance in 2010 was Ballon d'Or worthy (and with the old regulations he would have won it, just not the former FIFA World Player of the Year), even though often players in more creative roles who aren't as prolific are usually overlooked. I think describing him as a one season wonder is harsh, because he was still a good player generally, but it is true that he never quite reached those heights again. That season he was really something else with his all his numerous assists for Inter, especially in crucial games (plus a few big goals as well), and his high quality performances, plus his goals at the World Cup with the Netherlands (and if Robben's finishing had been better, then likely he would have assisted the title-winning goal in the final as well). It's a shame that he couldn't replicate that level of performance for the rest of his career, because in that one season he basically came inches away from winning everything possible in football. But realistically, he isn't quite at the level of an all-time great like Pirlo, who maintained that level for longer, and who was an even better passer. But still one of the greatest playmakers of his generation, as you said!

Did he win the world cup? if he would have won he would have taken the ballon d'Or but I think messi deserve it
@jackpuccini31433 жыл бұрын
@@osmannoor1788 I think Messi deserved it too, but so did Sneijder. I feel like many players could have had an argument, including the others I mentioned (possibly even Robben). But no, Wes didn't win the World Cup, but he was the joint top scorer and reached the final, plus he won the treble with Inter and assisted in the Champions League final. Leo still had a fantastic season, helping Barca to the title with a record 99 poitns at the time, while also equalling Ronaldo's goal tally from 1996-97 that no-one had matched for a while, and winning the golden boot as the top scorer in La Liga, and was also the top scorer in the Champions League en route to the semifinal. But Wes ended up winning the treble, and had a better World Cup as Messi went out in the quarter-finals, even though he was good to be honest despite going scoreless (he was invovled in most of Argentina's goals). The team were just coached badly by Maradona and got outplayed by Germany (and he didn't call up Cambiasso or Zanetti, who had won the treble and would've given the team a lot more balance and defensive strikes, which would've also lifted some of Messi's more creative responsibilities as well).

Sneijder got robbed in 2010 simple not because Messi is Messi But because uefa and fifa favoritism was obvious The reasons most likely to keep on projecting football as the number 1 sport and from marketing stand point they were building Messi and Christiano Ronaldo imagine when football start to die around that time I would say But the reality is Robben and sneijder outshined Messi and CR7 in multiple accusations and seasons yet the award kept exclusively between this two And yeah in 2010 every single person would say that sneijder deserved the award aside from the Barca fan but I’m not getting into that
