I'm from the Seattle area, and have traveled a lot, and have often said that flying into Seattle is one of the most beautiful places to fly into, weather cooperating, of course. Well, I imagine this wouldn't be very practical since it requires specific conditions for it to work, and lightning doesn't strike exactly where you want it to. Even then, I think the US military already has enough war machines and weapons, so they don't need this too. Although, it is admittedly a cool weapon concept. Instead, it could potentially be used to generate electricity. I imagine they could setup lightning rods in the area, then trigger the lightning strike and somehow store its energy. I don't know how realistic this could be, but it's still a cool concept nonetheless.
