1:35 I actually found a turtle in my front yard, quite far away from water, so I got a box and drove him to a lake. It was so adorable. I set him right by the water and he immediately went in and started playing in it. Best moment of my life.

That happened to my parents! They thought it might have been a pet as they don't live near any water, but apparently during mating season they can travel quite far. It's a miracle he wasn't struck by a car.

Thanks for not throwing/putting them directly in the lake, many people mistake tortoises for turtles and toss them/put them in water. Do not do that cause tortoises die in the water.

To the turtle clip: that is a snapping turtle, they rarely come onto land for anything but laying eggs. That turtle did not want help at all and had its mouth open to ward them off

@@davidcoletta3332 Probably because instinct is seen more of a naturally subconscious thing than a conscious thing. For example, if a juvenile bird knows how to fly on its own without any help or guidance, that is usually seen as instinctual. If a bird can learn how to solve a puzzle after seeing how it is done, that’s usually seen as intelligence. That being said, I think that the lines between instinct and intelligence tend to blur together a lot. And if a bee can recognize a face, that should be counted as intelligence in my eyes.

At 1:36 that is a snapping turtle. They were here when there were dinosaurs. They live in bodies of water. Even one that size could hurt you by bitting all the way through your flesh, while a bigger one could permanently remove your finger. They can stretch out their necks fast and snap their jaws faster. He wasn't thirsty rather he was in a defensive posture ready to bite which he did. As you noticed he never drink the water. They are very tasty; different parts taste like chicken, beef, pork, fish, venison. You have to parboil it first then fry it. Yum !
