James St. James sat down with long-time friend Superstar DJ Keoki in the WOW studio, and they had an illuminating chat about their NYC club kid days (sharing some scandalous stories!), what Keoki's been up to lately, what his interactions with Michael Alig have been in recent years, and how he's feeling now about all that happened in the club kid era, as chronicled in "Party Monster." Yes James, I agree. I see Party Monster as a feel-good movie. It reminds me of my party days, makes me feel nostalgic, and yearn to get in touch with a lighter happier younger version of myself. Yes, the movie has a sad ending but, so do alot of things. I try to focus on the positive. Glass half full vs. half empty.

I saw Keoki a few times in Phoenix and met him a two after parties. Cool dude, really chill. I heard a lot of horror stories about Keoki like him requesting teenage boys at his hotel as a demand to play a rave. Then I heard he passed out on the tables at a party at the Moonshine Over America Tour and even though he passed out and both turntables had stopped, the music "mysteriously" kept playing....lol

Circa 1995 I remember Keoki being so f’d out of his mind on K that he passed out in our DJ booth before he could even play. He finally woke up and literally played the worst set I’ve ever heard. About 1000 people were there to see him and basically left. That dance floor was cleared!Needless to say we never booked him again. Glad he seems to have gotten himself together a bit more than in those days. Boy was a damn train wreck!😂
