"heartfelt"? He and his lackies repeatedly lied to her to hide their crimes, and while she and the country were staying away from their dying loved ones, he was getting drunk partying. He didn't respect her or the British people in the slightest.

Johnson is not fit to give tributes! Let's look at his behaviour Johnson lied to her in 2019 and caused her to break constitutional when he forced her to illegally prorogue parliament? Law breaking Johnson that partied and presided over parties while she set an example and mourned her husband alone. Johnson whose silly antics in refusing to resign resulted in her being dragged, at 96, to London to discuss every possible constitutional ramification and way of saving her country from him.

@@maalikserebryakov See, I can understand some reasons why people would dislike the Queen/Monarchy, but the scrounger argument doesn't make sense. Firstly, because any money she received was just a fraction of the money earned BY the Crown, of which it paid 100% income tax on. More money was paid from the Crown than in the opposite direction. Secondly, because she probably worked more days in her life than any other person in the country. She performed duties from when she was a child, right up until two days before her death at 96. Hundreds of functions every year, even after the age of 90, in addition to the work that she was required to do separately. Red boxes came to her 363 days a year, even while on a tour internationally, for 70 years. Scrounger simply doesn't make sense here.

His speech, the one by Harriet Harman and the one by Theresa May were excellent. They showed the *human* side of the Queen. If I had one criticism of the Queen, it is that we didn't get to see enough of her as a spontaneous person, as opposed to hearing her reciting a speech that had probably been written by someone else (and if it hadn't been, it sounded as if it had). One advantage that Charles has is that he has lived a lot of his life free of the tighter restrictions of being monarch, so we have got to know him better as a person.

Lots missing tho - the time he lied to her to con her into illegally proroguing parliament. Or how much partying was enjoyed at No 10 while she set an example to the country by mourning her beloved husband alone. And I'd love to have heard how she was dragged to London at the age of 96 to go thru every possible constitutional scenario to protect our democracy when the big hypocritical man baby was refusing to resign. So much missed.

@@catherinematthews9573 It would have been inappropriate for him to have put himself and the various controversies of his tenure at the center of any such speech. I was all but certain that when he mentioned how she'd assured everyone during the depths of COVID they'd meet again, that he was going to say "and we did... some of us when sooner than we should have".. but he had the restraint not to.

How, in an era when PM’s seem to change as rapidly as the seasons, she has provided us with a political stability that has protected us from looking like a third world banana republic, which is some feat that even countries like Italy, Greece and Poland could only dream of when the EU has stepped in to try and play that role.

A wonderful speech, and yes, I also felt her loss, and still feel it. She went so graceful and dutiful as she was during her entire life. Doing her duties, not much noise around her own person, nor her physical struggles, a protocol put in place, and now she's gone to meet her husband again. An epoc, a time, an era or several ones, has just left us with her passing. Rip Queen Elizabeth 👸
