I mean as a childcare worker who has a degree in my field, I don't think that's that abnormal. Young children will do that, regardless of their home life. It is not so easy to just trust children at their word. They say things too. To me, it seems this child didn't understand the question. Seems like he has a language delay of some sort. I've met even children from loving homes who have pointed to the wrong person and proclaim them as "mom". In the grocery store once, my nephew was 3 at the time, and he pointed to a random man who looked absolutely nothing like his dad and said "look, there's my dad" and his dad was a very big, safe part of his life. So it's not like he didn't know who his dad was or didn't feel safe, kids just sometimes say things that seem a little off.

I am not condoning what happened or anything. I am not referencing this situation at all; just speaking in general. But as a parent of three I will admit that kids often behave better when around other adults than they do their own parents. Often times, shyness persists when kids are around people they aren't familiar with & they behave much more passively.
@rhondahoward80254 жыл бұрын
When a kid has no separation anxiety like that, and is super friendly, even to strangers, that's a red flag that the child may be getting neglected at home. Not once did this boy cry at being taken away from his biological parents or seeing them in distress, being arrested. When asked who his mom was, he pointed to the lady who rescued him. In his mind, that lady very well could've been his mom, because he would've been attached to anyone.

@@lucypowell5031 no, he said “hey buddy, wanna see a cool light show?” Little kids are enamored with that stuff. It’s a big reward. He should have been more teaching and stern. If the kid is old enough to walk to the road, he’s old enough that no teaching-opportunity should ever be forgone about that, especially not replaced with a cool light show like the cop made it seem for the kid. Cops need to act like an authority figure in this situation, not a literal clown just for some internet PR. @@feederdiaries4862 Why call him a disgrace?
@feederdiaries48623 жыл бұрын
@@TheTrueUltimateGenLifeform because he’s choosing to enforce tyranny and genocide. Specifically I’m referring to abortion laws, 5150s (over 200 million people have died in psych wards since ww2, the rate at which this is happening currently is horrible, as bad as ever, they literally still forcibly electrocute people for non-reasons, force them to take sterilizing and debilitating medication that are not even close to being scientifically proven to help but are known neurotoxins), and how we lock people up for petty crimes or no crimes (falsely convicted) for years and years while giving people like child predators a slap on the wrist and some therapy. I cannot stand our justice system, and idk how anyone wakes up one day and thinks they wanna go be a part of it. I’ve had some really eye-opening experiences though. I understand people make mistakes, and this cop could easily be redeemed. But that’s why I say our police are a disgrace. As a former heroin addict, these two were not “just sleeping”. They were passed the eff out, and that’s not ok.

Can you believe that people say that crack isn’t harmful? Then you get cases like these and you’re slowly saying “riggggggghhhttt...”
@melissag13643 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they’re pill heads or dope shooters. Either way, most sober people with kids don’t just happen to “fall asleep” in the middle of the day with their partner.

Couldn’t have said it better. Their speech was so delayed and everything. Definitely some form of opiates involved imo

The sad thing is I feel like this little boy received more love and genuine affection from the police officer and the lady holding him in the beginning than he ever experienced with his own mother. Breaks my heart.

Eh, just look at the house, and where it's located. Dumpy, run down, appears to be right off a highway. I'm sure there are a lot of neglected children living there. That being said, until you have kids it's hard to understand how much of your life they actually take up. It's not the one-time 5 minute interaction with the kids that's hard. It's the other 23 hour 55 minutes year round that's hard.
@bootyfly54563 жыл бұрын
@@zxcvbnmasdfghjkl51 It may be hard but you shouldn’t use that as a way to excuse these “parents” behavior. Also there are parents in the same living situation (plus even worse) that love their kids and give them the world.
@emilykapallen49793 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Horrible parents appear in rich families, poor families, middle-class families. The same goes for drug abusers.
