Everyone hates Nissan for the CVT, but this is where it shines, it's always over the EPA rating. We still have to see how their newest CVT's do in reliability.

True, I used to have a 3.5 altima and it would get great gas milage especially being a v6. I got a naturally aspirated v6 infiniti m35x after that which felt smoother but was nowhere near the same mpgs as my altima despite very similar power

@@TheGuruStudthose 5spd autos definitely didn’t have performance oriented gearing, long and generally lazy gears. The awd isn’t gonna directly effect the mpg like a Subaru does since it’s rwd 99 percent of the time. Though lugging around the extra weight which you’ve highlighted won’t help.

The miles 2 empty 4 the tank doesn't change very fast with the altima. It takes a while. Sometimes after 200 miles. I constantly get in the 600's for a tank and sometimes 700+ mile tanks on my 2016.

So far from Tx-Va it averaged 36-37mpg the entire way. From Va-Sc it averaged right at 40mpg. From Sc-Fl 36mpg. Pretty efficient for the power and that’s using cruise control going 75-80mph most of the way. Va-Sc I drove about 73mph.
