One tip: if you can't wheelie while looking forward, Then bend your arms a bit and look down a tiny bit(you might want to make your seat a bit lower)

Well some riders can wheelie really easily while others like me need to practice a lot. I ride a line I have risen the white line but I couldn’t wheelie so I set a goal to go out every day and practice for 2:30 hours every day no matter what and after five years I can wheelie for around 40 meters consistently and my best wheelie is around 60 meters and with practicing every day in another five years I am confident that I can wheelie for 200 to 300 meter.

That's some great advice. well done. well explained. I wheelie with the saddle all the way up, it gives the best pedal stroke. I don't get why you would lower the saddle. I wheelie with the shock fully open, but I don't have the shock set up too soft, if the suspension is set up right it should nto cause issues. 4:40 I avoid doing the back twister, of course when you messed up you have to correct, but some use it to control the steering while wheeling, which is bad for the back. or their do a weird combination of steering with the handlebar leaning and twisting the back. one of the most common wrong techniques I see is pulling the bars up to chest level, and just sitting. but the most common I see is a rapid lift of the front wheel & other rapid movements.
@DailyMTBRider

Thank Johannes! I haven't seen another video to explained it like I do wheelies so I hope it helps people get better at them! Good to hear you agree with me, it means a lot!
@mtbboy1993
@mtbboy1993 6 жыл бұрын
any reason you lower the saddle? I just don't get it, I keep it the same as for flat or climbing. lowering compromises the pedal stroke. but might help with the balance point on some bikes, but if so the bike is nto the rright ibke anyway.
@DailyMTBRider
@DailyMTBRider 6 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I usually wheelie with it fully up, but as I've taught people they all say they feel too far off the back. Dropping it an inch gives people comfort as they learn, keeps their wait low, and is easier to bail out of!
@mtbboy1993
@mtbboy1993 6 жыл бұрын
the saddle position also plays a role, in this, I have to see a lot of kids riding with too short bikes, and the saddle all the way back to the bend in the rails, resulting in a bent saddle. I got every single thing set up perfectly for me, it helps alot for wheelies. wide bars for example, it not only gives you more stable steering and less armpump and overall control, but it makes a huge difference while wheeleing too, easier to steer and gives you much better balance.

Sprained my wrist when I fell while doing this, I can't really lock out my rear suspension and bike is rather small for me(it's a Walmart bike or something I got when I was 12 I'm 6' now) so I have to stand on pedals to pop my front wheel up enough. I'm also practicing in grass just for added protection even though it makes it harder being an uneven surface. Suggestions?

So when you were showing the too high of a gear where the bike was shooting out from under you....well that seems to be an issue on my 29er scott aspect when im trying to wheelie. My gearing isnt too high but seems like when im trying to figure out where my balance point is the bike finds it easier to flip back before i even have time to try for my rear brake. Also the side to side balance seems to be almost impossible to achieve. If i can get the wheel up and start getting a couple cranks in ill end up falling sideways. Been practicing like crazy lately
