Daily MTB Rider great video as always. An extra tip I would give is look straight ahed, not at what your hopping over (as the start of a hop is basically a manual). this (for me) has increased the size of my hops by quite a bit. idk, maybe it will help someone else as well?

Hey man, this video is really helpful! I could never bunny hop when I was a teenager, and getting back into mountain biking 12 years later, it is the first thing I wanted to learn. I have watched many videos which haven't been much help as none of them give the one piece of crucial advice that yours did... to push the bike forward. I just watched this video yesterday, and today I bunny hopped for the first time... and the second, and the third. I did it so many times that I now have to re-adjust the cable on my rear derailleur lol. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

This really helps, I was trying to get the front up by pulling up and the rear up just with my feet, I will say that gripper pedals make it easier Edit: I also never knew that you can chose which wheels hit the ground first, it's also cool that you show that a hard tail can do big hops too. really looking forward to the next one ;D I always smash my front wheel into the ground
@DailyMTBRider6 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about when you jump or bunny hop? Because in both cases, sounds like you need to get your hips back over the rear wheel to keep your bike from nose diving
@paulahner21016 жыл бұрын
Daily MTB Rider I figured it out on bunnyhops, but on jumps (small tables) my front wheel stalls. I tried to get some more rebound damping onto my rear shock which helped a little bit put I still feely front wheel diving too quickly. Maybe that's because I smash all of my weight forward to get my rear wheel lifting and don't pump into the takeoff hard enough
@DailyMTBRider6 жыл бұрын
Sounds like your on the money with how to fix it. It's hard to do, but keep your weight back off the lip and keep your feet level to the ground as you go up.

Can you talk about effect of frame size, suspension, chain stay length, wheel base, stack height, and reach? I am convinced all you folks showing how to bunny hop have a favorite bike to demonstrate on, while other bikes you own may not be as easy. While you pros can hop nearly any bike, some folks entering mtb may not have a bike well suited to LEARN on, and only practice frustration over and over again.
@rokas39354 жыл бұрын
All these things are just people looking for excuses. Yeah, easiest bike to bunny hop is a BMX, but you can bunnyhop every bike, the technique is the same..Every bike is suited to learn on. And when you are at this level of riding, you know what you need from a bike, you have your preferences and you know what your bike should be capable of.

Hi budget friendly biking, i'm in the mountain bike scene since 10 years now, I have (and had) a lot of bike (dirt jump, street, enduro, hardtail, downhill, fatbike...) and my fatbike (Rocky Mountain Blizzard 2015) is the most easier bike to learn anything even if it is full rigid and 30 pounds. I don't know how to describe it, but these bikes are way too underrated. I made this little video if you wanna see some back wheel hop with that bike kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHXJi6CmpL-lqJI
