Being from Australia and not having Tucker on our screens growing up. Coupled with the fact that the Australian media have 3 main channels pushing the same narrative, I grew up thinking Tucker was real evil, before I knew what he looked like or heard him speak. After consuming hours of his content (particularly since off Fox) I have come to sincerely adore this man. So grateful to live in an age where we can seek the truth easily if we so choose. My friend has family there and all went to the rally. She was on her phone with her daughter when it happened. After talking with family again, they said the same thing. I guess I don’t have a good understanding of where they were at in the audience.

Sometimes people underestimate the value of admitting you were wrong. I have never been afraid to do so, and I am an immensely better person for it. J.D. (what is his name actually?? Anybody?) Vance say he was wrong about Trump. I was wrong about Obama. (voted for him in 2008, felt scammed, didn't in 2012). Tucker just admits he was wrong about the Iraq war. Dr. Phil said "the only thing worse than being wrong for ten years, is to be wrong for ten years and one day". I endorse that state of mind, and tend to respect others who can do admit to their mistakes.

Me too Marina. I went along with the cartoon orange man narrative until mid 2019 when I sat down and actually watched one of his speeches. He made sense, and seemed a genuine and caring person, warts and all!

Once he reached adulthood, he took the name of his maternal grandparents, who actually raised him, as Mr. Hamel had abandoned the family and his mother was an addict.

He is spot on about the courage of a leader being crucial. As a Brit I remember clearly when The Grand Hotel in Brighton where Margaret Thatcher and her cabinet were staying was torn apart in the middle of the night by and IRA bomb. Some of her cabinet were trapped in the wreckage and permanently disabled. Her own room was wrecked around her. But next day she had immaculate hair and and stood before her version of the RNC and made a rousing defiant speech. She could do that because she believed in what she was saying. You don't have to agree with a leader's views-but it is important to see that they are standing for what they believe in. Many so-called leaders today are mere sock-puppets mouthing whatever they are told to say.
