2 months I fractured 9 ribs when a vehicle cut me off I should’ve had one of these and I was looking forward to this because all of my gear is Dianese but unfortunately they’re other air bag vest that have way more coverage like the Alpinestar 7x series. Or the air tech 5

Dainese missed a big chance to have a product that competes with Alpine* Tech Air 7, which has large coverage of back and shoulders. Any alternatives to Tech Air 7? It seems the best air bag currently.

Where does it stand compared to Alpinestars tech Air 5 regarding protection? I am having a hard time choosing between these two vests. I want to wear it under the jacket

The vest costs $700 with a 1-year warranty. If you replace the cartridge every year, it will cost $125 each.

Why can't someone design one where we can remove the case of the unit and wash the vest???? I'm keen on one, but under your jacket in mid-summer, it's another layer that is going to have me sweating like crazy...
@RandomGRK20 күн бұрын
This is why I have the Long sleeve version of their smart vest. Perfect for summer. I wear it on my GS with a lot of wind protection and I’m still not that warm
@DustyVisorMotorcycles20 күн бұрын
@RandomGRK So you just use that and no jacket when it's hot?
@RandomGRK19 күн бұрын
@@DustyVisorMotorcycles Yes, I just use the long sleeve version with its built-in armor. If it's cold, I wear a puffy under it, since it stretches really nicely and if raining, I have a stretchy rain jacket that goes over it. I hate that I love the jacket so much since I dont actually wear regular jackets anymore and I have some favorites just hanging in my closet.

I cant find an answer anywhere so please reply if you know the answer: Can I use this inside race leathers with a tight fit? I currently use the RST V4.1 Evo suit. But it looses connection to the phone from time to time and the app says the airbag is not connected. So I am thinking about taking it out and use this inside instead since I used Dainese D-air before and was super happy + it saved my life once.

A one day battery life and needs an app to use. No thank you! Safety gear like this should work without a smartphone app and have a longer battery life in case you forget to charge it one night on a week long trip. LED light? It is not clear which one that is. Is it the thing on the top left area of the chest or is it the matrix looking pattern on the front of the jacket?
@Helmigurt3 ай бұрын
I own the predecessor version of this. Actually you need the app only to activate the vest for the first time. Then you never have to use the app again. The vest needs no connection to your phone and works perfectly fine when your phone is off or at home. The status led is the little light top left and is quite handy because you see it in the mirror of your bike and so you always can easily check if it’s working or not. The other thing my vest does is it vibrates to tell me it’s on. And the battery life is only riding time so even if you ride 6 hours a day you have 4 days of riding till you need to charge it. At least from a usability perspective these are great. I hope I never need it to deploy to find out the safety aspect….
