Wow! Your DIY portfolio on projects is incredible! The diversity 😱 I mean sewing, gardening, bee keeping, author, multiple crafts on the circut machine, woodworking and now tiling?! (You Probably know more that I'm missing off the top of my head) But my point is you are a true DIY queen 👑 your projects look incredible even with the little 'mistakes' (that you openly point out) and I aspire to have your level of natural perfection. Well done Catherine, huge well done 👏🏻 what an inspiration 💕

Catherine, I once had a corner sink with an eyesore drainage pipe - and came up with a solution I was very pleased with. I purchased 3 foot wide eyelet fabric with a scalloped edge, and cartridge pleated it along the unfinished edge before hemming it to length. Then I sewed the fuzzy portion of hook and eye tape to the back of that hemmed side …attached the rough/hook portion of the tape along the sink edge, and hung my sink skirt. It was reasonably inexpensive and elegant - and because it was detachable, it could easily be washed. While I could have left it like that and used behind the skirted area for storage, space in that powder room was minimal. So I opted to install a hook just under the drain pipe, gather the skirt loosely with a ribbon finished on either end with small O rings, and hang both ends of the ribbon from the hook. This swept the skirt off the floor out of the way so movement in and out of the room wasn’t impeded. I thought it was a great way to hide the pipe! ps ~ Upon reflection, I believe I used a length of “sewer’s Velcro” on the skirt, and purchased a length of adhesive-backed crafter’s Velcro to affix to the sink. While I could have tried using double-sided tape or some other glue to adhere the hook side to the sink, I opted for the fool-proof solution!

The 'Throne Room' looks lovely, Catherine. The tiled splashback, brings everything you have done, together. And it's also made the room, look a lot bigger. I love watching all the progress. Never give up on what you love doing.

I have a hint for you. When working around a drain, crumple some old plastic bags, tape in place over the drain with painter's tape. Put an old towel or rag over it. It's much easier to clean that than snaking your drain. Or finding a missing ring! I was a DIY fiend in the 1980's. The men in hardware stores asked me where my hubby was.😮

That whole bathroom looks so much better now. Once you get the floor tiles in, it will be amazing! I wish I could say I have been productive, but this whole week, I have been popping cold medicine like candy from a PEZ dispenser. I did manage to finish painting around the windows in my dining room alcove and found paint for a basement project, but that stuff will have to wait until I get better. For as much as I watch your videos, I really should buy a membership to your channel. Soon! I promise!

When you are putting the grout on, spread it in a 45 degree angle both directions. It fills in the seams without "smusching" in it.😄 Sounds weird, but works. Yours turned out beautifully. Love how you take on all kinds of projects. I get lots of ideas from you.

I love tile projects. I hope that your tiles do stick permanently because usually when it goes right onto a wall they eventually start coming away. It's best if you use 1/8 or 1/4 HardieBacker. I've been tiling for about 15 years. I love making stuff and collecting left over tiles on marketplace. You are amazing for taking on new stuff.

Well done, girl!! Tiling is no more difficult than wallpapering, and you're a pro at that. I tend to use my fingers to really smush the grout in to the gaps and then go over it to smooth it out. That way you don't get bubbles.
