During my Reel Research there’s a huge divide with the Daiwa BG Reels and the Penn Reels lol but most are saying the Daiwa is smoother but Penn is Bomb proof. I still want a Battle 3 Penn. stay safe Dennis

I think both sides/comments are fair and correct - tough choice - Dennis

It might need a bearing Dennis. I like these modern BG reels but I’d rather have the vintage Daiwa BG reels. Unfortunately I have neither. I do like it that this reel has an AR override. Great job on this reel. I imagine that bearing retention clip would give me a hard time given my vision limitations. I like this reel but I have no idea what it would cost right now. Great video that would surely make things easier for amateurs like me. - Chris

I have two of these was just sitting down to service everything and I cant find any of my equipment haha. If you are going to reno your basement make sure you put your repair kit somewhere safe.

Looks like another good little reel from Daiwa , but a bit difficult to service .
@2ndChanceTackle8 ай бұрын
Yes and yes - it takes a bit of effort to do that service - Thanks

FYI for those using these BG’s, the handles unscrew easily by themselves, costing $40 for a replacement, otherwise they’re great reels.

That handle is a weakness as it screws on to a post and not directly into or through the main gear. Thanks for the note - Dennis

@@2ndChanceTackle I found that out after dropping down 100’ for SeaBass and saw I had no way to reel back up .

Geez that looks like a real PITA . for a basic spinning reel. I would hate to see what the baitrunner is like to work on!

It is harder than the average reel regarding the service. Thanks
