I just bought the Rebellion 661MHFB model here in Japan land ($186). I went into the store looking for a lower cost Daiwa Blazon model and walked out with this one, which is an upgrade with Fuji Sic guides. The blanks on the Tatula's are "SVF" which are different. (Not sure which is better -"SVF or HVF"). The guides on the Tatula are Fuji "Fazlite", which are a couple of steps down in grade. The Japanese Daiwa Rebellion also comes with a nice rod sock.

Chewy what is the Guide Train on these Rebellion's? As Daiwa unfortunately (For some odd reason unknown lol) does not mention this anywhere in the Specs of this rod on their website and even on places like Tackle Warehouse too there are no mention of this either at all about the type of guides on these? 🤔.....Do you possibly know? Did the Rod come with any Fuji Guide Tags?.....So any more info you might have on them would be appreciated ok....Thx, JD
@ChewyThaoFishing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking. Unfortunately, I am unsure as well. I dont have the original tags and I actually parted with this rod a month ago or so. I would have to say that I would buy another one. I think its reasonably priced and the sensitivity is better than the tatula rods.

@@ChewyThaoFishing Hello Chewy and Thanks for the reply I appreciate it ok!.....About the Rod I actually just found out yesterday that the Rebellion has a Fuji (SIC) K Framed Guide Train on it (Which is a good thing) probably the reason for the higher price then the Original Tatula Elite or Cork Handle Tatula Models.....But let me ask you something would you say the Rebellion is lighter than the other mentioned Tatula Rods or No?....And have you have a chance to Fish any of the (Glass Version) Rebellions?

I hate hook keepers in front of lock nut. My line always be hanging up there. Manufacture should put it below the lock nut or behind the handle.

Agreed! I had a kistler helium 3 that had the hook keeper in that annoying spot. Every once in a while, it would get caught and boom! My lure snaps off from a cast due to the tanglement lol

Thanks for the nice review. Good job. Do you have any experience with the 2020 Shimano Zodias, and if so which do you think is a better rod in terms of weight, balance and sensitivity? Daiwa seems to have targeted the Rebellion at the Zodias / $200 rods. Thanks again.

Thanks for watching John. I don’t unfortunately but I will be getting a NEW zodias soon so time will tell. Some people say it’s close and some say the Expride is still way better - again, depends on who you ask lol.

Thanks for watching Josh! Depending on the action, it most definitely could work. I do prefer the Elite AGS over the rebellion and the rebellion over the elite - if that makes sense? Those AGS guides really make a difference.

So I'm getting back into fishing and only have one combo. A scheels ebisu 7'1" MH Fast with a tatula ct. Looking into these $150-$250 rods for more sensitive/jig/finesse/pitching style fishing. I feel like anything over 100-150 isnt really worth it for top water, spinners, cranks, because you dont really need that hyper sensitivity. Or maybe you do? Is it worth the extra money for rods across the board? Its overwhelming. Anyways, for my next rod, Im leaning towards a megabass Levante.. but these rebellion rods are sweet too. Or BPM jackall.. evergreen combat stick. Etc.. Idk.
@Sdemmy9802 жыл бұрын
A lot just has to do with budget. Rod difference is mainly in balance and lightness. I’m between this and the megabass myself but I’m looking for strictly sensitivity but both are super solid. Megabass will probably last longer

@LatvianPagan9993 жыл бұрын
Hook keeper on rod is bad. If higher carbon you have, than less hook keeper you need. It's killing blank. Lures are all the time kicking one spot and can make it broken.

So in comparison to a zodias or expride, is it better or the same? How about in comparison to a dobyns champion? Your intell will really help me because im debating on buying this rod.n
@ChewyThaoFishing3 жыл бұрын
Great question! I have not tried the new zodias yet but the expride is more sensitive than the rebellion! In comparison to the dobyns champion, the champion will be more in the category of the expride - so i would say expride/champion over the Rebellion but yet, there is a big price difference.

Between rebellion 2020 & zodias 2020 which one is better
@NashFishingChannel3 жыл бұрын
@SilentDiablo the rebellion is better. I own both of them.
@NashFishingChannel3 жыл бұрын
@SilentDiablo both of them are lightweight. Rebellion use all fuji sic guide. Zodias only the top guide is sic. The others is alconite. Zodias comes in butt joint and center joint. Rebellion comes in one piece rod and center joint. Zodias use carbon monocoque handle (easy to slip if get wet & easy to get scratches). For weight lets compare between the same spec 6 foot 6 center joint 8-16lb. Rebellion is 104g and zodias is 102g. Maybe because of the carbon handle so zodias is a bit lighter. For stiffness i prefer the rebellion.
@NashFishingChannel3 жыл бұрын
@SilentDiablo im not sure. I think its glass. Im using the 6 foot 3 one piece 10-20lb medium heavy. I prefer rebellion over the zodias 6 foot 6 7-14lb medium light. Zodias is too stiff.
