I own several of both the Rebellion as well as Zodias. I absolutely love them both but prefer the Rebellion in the glass rods and other moving bait rods. The Zodias is better for bottom contact as in jigs in the MH and H models. In comparable models the Zodias glass has a softer tip fyi so I would move up in power to make them more comparable. The Rebellion spinning rods are hands down better imo especially the ML models. Good comparison video 👍🏼

Looking for like a 7'2 or somehwere close heavy action.. What's makes the zodias better. I haven't been able to decide but I like the rebellion just because I like stuff that's different

I got a 7 3 mh fast Rebellion on sale for 140 and am very happy with it. Casts great and very sensetive. Stupid light as well, been a great rod glad i found one in that configuration. Recomend for sure.

You did a great job with this video. Hardly anyone on youtube talks about balance or any details(most people are more so pushing them like an advertisement and don't get into any detail about how they compare to other rods)

I have a Scorpion MGL on a first gen Zodias 7’2 MH. 👍 versatile rod. I prefer it over glass for chatterbaits

I own a 7'2" med power , Fast action Zodius I bought for Jigging they are very sensitive rod with a great action .Love these rods and for cheap rods you simply can't beat them .

Never thought about getting a rebellion Zodias I own multiples of Love the Expride more though for an extra 70 bucks or so, I got my first poison adrena during the cyber Monday sale for the price of an expride I have a Scorpion MGL on an Expride good combo

Thanks for the review. I wish the rebellion had more options one piece rods that are not over 7 foot . The 6”10 rebellion is rated up to an 1oz lure rating - in your experience when u mention not throwing a 1/2 chatterbait with trailer - why would it not handle this lure rating as good ? Also would the rebellion be a good jerkbait zod based on the action ? Thanks again !

Good questions. 1/2 oz with a trailer would put the whole bait right around 3/4 oz, which is doable on the 6'10 MH but gets close to the limit of what the rod is rated for. You CAN do it, but it may feel a little light for that bait! As for jerkbaits, i think it's a solid option for larger jerkbaits or deeper divers that need a little more power to work them properly. I'd feel comfortable if I had to throw a jerkbait on it

I'm a sucker for that Scorpion Red!!! That looks sooooo good on that zodias. I'm a toss up between Daiwa and Shimano, but I own more Shimanos for sure. I have a couple Curado K 200s and the scorpion is very similar. It's got the 150 MGL spool. I'm looking for a 6 10 m jerkbait rod and looking at the zodias. Thanks for the video I saw the Rebellion on AliExpress.

I have 2 jerkbait rods and they are the Shimano Expride -B 6'-10" Medium & Shimano Zodias 6'-10" Medium. They are both great rods with the same action. The Expride is a little bit lighter than the Zodias. On my Expide I'm running the Curado MGL 150 reel, LOVE that reel!!! On my Zodias I have The SLX XT reel and this is a very nice setup too.

I have a 72MH 2 piece Rebellion and a 72H 2020 Zodias. I found that I like Zodias way more. It balances really well. The action and crispiness of the rod is much better than the Rebellion. The Rebellion also feels super tip heavy and lacks sensitivity. It did not feel well balanced at all. Please let me know if you feel the same way.

Honestly people sleep on how good of a Texas rig rod a mod/fast action can be. The Mod/Fast action really helps keep those fish pinned I was thinking about the Zodias for a new senko rod but that Rebellion rod is looking really nice to me now with that mod/fast action. Decisions …

Good review. I think the 610MH Zodias may have been the better comparison.. throw some 30lb braid on either and you can fish it all.

Probably, but the 7' is all I had! I tried not to focus too much on their lengths as much as the quality and value. It's worth mentioning the added length for the Zodias is in the handle, meaning the "business" end of both rods is the same length. I assume the 6'10 mh Zodias just has a shorter handle? If that's the case it should fish very similarly to the 7', which is why I felt comfortable comparing them. But yes, both of these rods can do nearly anything you throw at them! They compliment each other nicely

You "could" do it, but it's definitely going to be on the higher end of what the rod feels like it's meant for. This is especially true when using a typical bulky chatterbait trailer

Wow, 3.9 ounces on the rebellion!!! My Super Destroyer is 4.4 ounces but is probably a tad heavier in power. That thing balances dead in front of the reel though.

The Levantes are some of the most beautiful looking rods I've seen period, they're also put together incredibly well. They were a solid value at $200, but at $250 now they're competing with a new tier of rods. I haven't used them, but I've heard that the Perfect Pitch and Braillist are solid in the Levante line. Overall, I like the line but I just wish they stayed at $200!

@@carlossKick I am a huge fan of both the Zodias and Rebellion line, you can't go wrong with either. If you're new to fishing, I'm assuming you want something that can do a little bit of everything! I'd opt for a 7' or 7'3 (or any length in between) Medium Heavy rod. Super versatile rod

Is the heavy action the same where the zodias has a faster tip?

I've never used the Heavy action rebellion so I can't say for sure, but it is rated as "Fast" where as the 6'10 MH is rated as a "Regular". I'd expect it to be a typical Fast action

The real differences in these two rods is the power and action Shimano makes a 6'10" medium which would be the same power and action

Only problem with the Zodias is that the rod ain’t durable. Spend the extra $70 for the expride. More durable and sensitive.

The Shimano hook keeper is in a very bad spot its right near your hand when your carrying the rod . 😧 Also will catch if you put it in a rod holder , It would be better up the front of the reel seat not the back. 😉👍
