DAKOTA DIGITAL Gauges install BOX CHEVY!

Dakota digital gauges installed in my 1988 caprice. I’m putting these in in prep for LS Fest west 2024. I’ve never loved the factory gauges, and Dakota Digital makes an awesome product which is going to solve all my gauge problems.
Ever since I LS swapped my odometer/speedometer has not worked. These gauges have that fixed, and provide a much better experience in the car. I installed the rtx series gauges.

I am thinking about swapping my OG to a dakota digital. Can I use the control box that comes with it to control everything? Or will I need to run wires to other parts of the car. Such as the oil sending unit, distributor for tach etc? Thanks in advance and great video!

@@PrimeG2 what engine do you have? If running a carburetor you have to run more wires. The control box has an input for each gauge. You'll have to rujnwires and install the sensors that come with the kit if you aren't running a Holley or other EFI ECU system. I got the Holley adapter because it reduced the wiring I needed, since the Holley already gets most of that data from it's sensors.

@@PrimeG2 you would have to add sensors then. The Dakota digital instruction manual is pretty good. you can find it on the product listing in their website

You went from explaining the wires and what they were to getting hung up a bit on a couple wires than moves immediately to your holley set up you left me confused buddy

Definitely didn’t mean to leave anybody confused. The Dakota digital control box gets most of the information from my Holley Ecu. That keeps me from needing to run a second set of sensors just for the gauges.
