When ESPN.com's David Newton was insulted by Tony Stewart after the Richmond NASCAR race, Dale Earnhardt Jr. tried hard not to laugh.

Stewart was legendary for roasting the race media like that. But he also was quick to praise. One time a new reporter at their first race asked a question that required him to think, and he replied with "This is their first race and I got asked an intelligent question. Why can't some of you do that?"

Tony was always wrecking someone in those days. Then when he started getting wrecked and loosing out in championships he started whining about the whole “if a car is fast you should let them by just like in Indy car” and that’s how NASCAR was ruined because they let the drivers make decisions…and while Tony is closing his NASCAR ops JEFF GORDON is re-establishing his into the dominant player..same ol same ol from ol smoke.

If I was Dale Jr I would have burst out laughing. People need to lighten up, there's a lot of things I miss in Nascar since Earnhardt died it's never really been the same for me. But I think one of the biggest things is that after a race, a driver like Earnhardt could drive up to a rival like Jeff Gordon and congratulate him by leaving a big ring from his tire on the side of Gordon's car. If that wouldn't get you a penalty today people probably still wouldn't do it because it would mess up the newer cars more than it would the old ones...
@sandsandwich512310 жыл бұрын
Now that I think of it I haven't seen a tire ring on someones car in a long time :P Was there a rule change I didn't know about or something?
@SprigganFR10 жыл бұрын
I don't believe there was, but think of how much more complex they are. They have a lip on the front to help with downforce and much wider fender flares. So the tires don't stick out as far, and I think bumping the wrong place can actually cut a tire on the square exhaust exit. So it's just something they don't do after races anymore, in fact they would usually end up with them during the race as well and you usually don't see that either. It could be the design prohibits it altogether (all together?) honestly, I'm not sure which way it's supposed to be said in this case...

Jesse Lacey Oh, I see now. Basically the lip over the tires on the gen-6 cars prevent it right?

@ronnieb94929 жыл бұрын
possumverde You bring up a good fact. Had Tony steered clear JUST LIKE THE FIRST DRIVER DID!! Then obviously we wouldn't have assumed because of his hothead that he had I'll intentions. Great point dummy!
@messmeister929 жыл бұрын
possumverde By what logic did you figure that out? If the first driver had hit Ward Jr, it probably would have just been deemed an accident because Ward Jr stepped out right in front of him. But he didn't, and in fact multiple drivers managed to avoid Ward Jr. by going around him. I don't think Stewart meant to injure -never mind kill- Ward Jr., but I believe without a doubt that he tried to get as close as possible to scare the kid. I mean for Christ's sake you can watch as he flicks the rear end of the car out. And yes, I agree that Ward Jr. should never have put himself in that position in the first place; it was stupid. But Ward's stupidity does not absolve Steward of his own stupidity, and there should have been some consequences of some kind. But I maintain that that his celebrity status and importance to NASCAR saved his ass big time.
@ronnieb94928 жыл бұрын
MrBigike76 Yea its pretty sad when people are that dumb to think Tony bares no responsibility because Ward was waling on the track. That kid caused his own death. He was intoxicated and walked within inches of a moving open-wheel vehicle to hit the car's wing in frustration. The wheels are on the same vertical plane as the ends of the wing, so if he was close enough to touch the wing, he was already in the path of the rear right wheel. It doesn't matter how Stewart reacted, because you can't move a sprint car down the track that quickly without whipping out the back end. Speeding up, braking, and trying to move left all result in the back end kicking out. The only way he could have actually avoided Ward was to turn right and either floor it or engine brake immediately after the front wheel was passed him, which would have been impossible. Ward was high, or at least feeling the after-effects of THC, got out of his car on the top of a turn on a dirt track at night and walked directly into his death. It can look like whatever you want it to look like, but he did it to himself.

(Then actually work, really a better use of your time.) The fuck are they gonna do, give you detention? Do your work, then you can go home and chill out instead of working. Back then I could walk out of any class to his [VP] office, tell him a legit reason I left, and he would tell me to do some homework in his office then go to my next class. Then we would always end up talking and debating shit, and at that age it was pretty cool to be able to shoot the shit with someone who most of the school viewed as a complete asshole when I was a totally stoner hippy playing hacky sack in the halls.. We actually had mutual respect. If I fucked up I owned up, if I was honest he was straight. How many high school admins are like that? Take it from your elder, don't just fuck off in school, it's not cool anymore. Just be smarter and learn to play the game and win instead of getting shit on by some 24 year old with a teaching certificate reading directly from the text because they don't really know anything about their subject. Shhheeeeettttt I can remember this one guy, they hired him to be a football coach. School policy said to coach you had to also teach, so they made him a geometry teacher. I had to tell him what a fucking octagon is. I had to tell him that a theoretical line never ends. He didn't understand the concept of a theoretical line. Not even embellishing. Guy had no idea what the prefix -octo meant, no idea how to calculate the slope of a line, the most simple thing you can possibly do. But from what I heard he was a great football coach. Priorities. Trust me when you get to college you'll find some professors actually deserving of your time, attention, and respect. Public school in this country is a fucking joke. The only good teachers I ever had were science classes and history classes. And auto shop. That shit was great. Scott Eb Well yes, I hear in some states selling Diet Dew is considered a insult to human taste buds. 50 ie so. Taking the sugar out of Dew, its just not done, by people.
@kyongslist7 жыл бұрын
WTF, did you really just imply that it is indeed the LACK of sugar that is the "poison causing a health and obesity pandemic" in the country? Because not only is that just hilariously stupid and stricken with obvious denial, it also misses so many other, arguably more severe, "pandemics" like diabetes, tooth decay and gingivitis, skin issues among numerous other things. And its not just a HUGE amount of sugar in typical soda (mountain dew certainly among the highest on top of that), its the EXTREMELY horrible nature of said "sugar" thats been so extensively refined, artificially synthesized and processed that its chemical makeup alone is already wreaking havoc on your body, not to mention the obvious macro caloric devastation it inflicts on your body composition and cardiovascular system too......

Kyong Hansen. *I have no problem with diet drinks in general* . Heck, my drink of choice to get caffeine is Target Market Pantry Grape Energy, it's powder you put in water, only 10 Calories plus 120MG of caffeine. What I do have an issue with is Diet Mountain Dew. Does not even remotely taste like regular Dew. It's sorta like comparing how far off the mark Tab Cola is to just plain sugared cola (Pepsi, Coke etc). If I am going to drink Dew, it might as well be full octane. (full disclosure, have not had any Dew in a good year, just too much sugar) Whenever I see Dale with a bottle of the Diet, I wonder if he really drinks it. To me it tastes very salty and just has a nasty boomerang effect after taste.

Ahh Tony ... always a breath of fresh air lol. I will admit, it was kind of a dumb "filler" question but it still didn't deserve the typical Tony Stewart temper tantrum lol. Tony was a good driver but he lacked basic, as well as friendly, communication skills lolol.

You thought that was a “temper tantrum “. Not a question, just an observation about a dumbass remark.

Dale is just on a whole nother leave by not just falling out of his chair during this. Jr was brilliant and his ability to stay professional is uncanny.. there will never be race car drivers in my opinion hold a candle to Dale senior and Dale jr. And they were both brilliant in their own way. Which made them two of a kind and more than likely never I have a father and son that can even hold a candle to the Earnhardts

@@hell-sol5240 You telling me a driver with 26 Cup wins and 2 consecutive Busch Series championship is talentless? If that's truly what you think, I don't know what to tell you. I dunno about him being a legend in terms of stats (he's top 40 all-time at best) but he's sure as hell better than the majority of guys who have gotten into a stock car. Along with that, Jr didn't make it on namesake alone. Being in good equipment doesn't equal success. Just ask Danica Patrick or J.J. Yeley. As for Sr being a cheat (I assume you're talking about his driving style) it's how the game is played. It's the nature of the sport. I'm sure your favorite driver hasn't shied away from those tactics when push comes to shove. That's just NASCAR, where that kind of thing is a valid tactic. I don't think he's the best all time, but he sure as hell isn't a cheat either.
@hell-sol52403 жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-mk5jt okay not a talentless hack. But he should've stayed in Busch his entire career. He never lived ho to the hype and was simply a Greg Biffle Ryan Newman type stellar but nothing amazing. And his driving style was meh. And SR was a jackass and it's ppl like you tbag bitch and moan when Joey Or Kyle puts someone in the wall now.

God, R.I.P. Dale Sr. I know he's damn proud of his boy. Now I'm not a high NASCAR fan at all. My knowledge of NASCAR is people making left hand turn so maybe I should put my 2 cents in this but its my opinion about Tony Stewart so here we go. Before I say something and sound like an ass, when u crash close to the fence by the people, are u suppose to wait for the right people to get u to safely? I mean to me it makes perfect sense since u r wearing black. Anyways I read comments that Stewart revved his engine just before nailing that poor driver. Honestly and again its just one's opinion, I do know that Stewart is a hot head but I fully believe that guy he clip and accidentally killed was noted as a hot head as well. He gotten out of his banged up race car to confront and wanting to give hell to Stewart hell as he was racing and gets killed. I'm sorry guys but if that guy would of stay put, he be alive today. You get in a accident on the highway in the dark after an accident and try to fight without getting yourself killed. Maybe some agree and some don't but in my mind that's how I feel about it

Haters will hate. Lowlifes would've put T.Stewart behind bars for evidence that couldn't b proven. Fan or no fan. The officials did there job. This track wasn't under NASCAR sanctions. This individual would have been tested from time to time and would've been caught eventually. I retract my comments about the kid getting what he deserves. One lame comment after another gets one caught up in the heat of it,when really? It's just hot air. There was no crime proven or MONEY paid out that would satisfy the haters. ...

I feel that Tony Stewart needs to commit to find out the root of why he explodes. People explode they do. But Tonys temperature gage is not intact. He reminds me of a person in the midst of a chemical imbalance undiagnosed. I've seen people once they receive a diagnosis they are fit as a fiddle and tootin a horn. I used to be part of the C.Justice Field myself, and I my peeps saw this first hand. If you really look closely at Tony Stewart even when he's in a non anger moment if you look at his eyes there's turmoil. And pain. His handlers arnt doing him any Justice as a professional or as a man. They need to compel him to visit a Neurologist and a Psychiatrist and go for a battery of tests. If Tony is suffering from a Chemical Imbalance, it can get fixed. His Handlers have to quit freting over image, and start caring about doing what is right.
