The biggest mistake tourist make is by-passing Boulder City on the way to Hoover Dam. Its a really neat and historic little city. I have photos of the by-pass bridge being built in 2009, they were part of the way across on each side, with a big gap in the middle. I still have yet to drive across it though.

Smug Smugly I totally agree! When we need a break from big city life, Boulder City is our getaway spot for the day. We really like the antique shops, and there is a burger place called The Dillinger that is over the top. Truly a lovely town to visit, as you clearly know. And as for the bridge: Make plans to drive that cool new stretch of highway, and bring the camera again! You can get some before and after shots. 📷 🏜🚗

My grandpa worked on the dam. I would love to go to the museum to see if I could catch him in one of the photos.

Boulder City looks like an interesting place to visit. We usually do a quick drive by when out that way. We need to make it a destination instead. We find ourselves heading directly to Hoover Dam and touring that area every time. We cannot believe how much walking you guys do. You are both in good shape. Thank you for exploring in our behalf.

Cherry St you showed in your video had houses on your right going towards Boulder Hwy were built by Southern California Edison Company to house employees to operate Hoover dam. On the left side was houses built by the Dept. of Water and Power for their employees. I know because I grew up in one from 1960 - 1973. My Dad was a Dam operator in the control room.
