Dalen, I loved this shift! Both men were answering questions. Button seemed to be more philosophical about his fate, where General Mack was adamant that he had it coming. Dueling was outlawed eventually but some still occurred. Hot headed people who challenged others over sometimes perceived slights. Honor was important. ❤Brenda P❤

I love these story lines and where they go. This is more interesting than random conversations. Making the shift more personal creates a lot more talking between you and them. I think they like it when you make them the star of the talk. No one likes to be left in silence. Good job Dalen.

Hi Dalyen . I think you would find it interesting about the 5 mafia godfathers being buried together in the same cemetery in St Johns Cemetery Queens NY. I personally too would be mad if I was buried near the person who took my life. 😅😅

My father and his brother got into a argument in a bar. They went outside the bar and squared off for a duel and shot each other. Neither one of them were gravely injured. They both lived at least to 75. My father was 83 when he passed over, I can't remember exactly how old my uncle was. This "duel" happened in the early 60's

Sounds like Button was ready to let by-gones be be-gones. He was a fool to take on a Scotsman. Gen. MacIntosh says he deserved to die like that and he still doesn't like Button. Woo. He sure can hold a grudge. Thanks Dalen for another great shift.

This is why i have always loved History. It was my favorite class in school. Wow sounds like the General doesnt regret anything and still holds bad feelings toward Button. Yeah Dueling was certainly a crazy part of history. Im glad that it stopped being the thing to do in the heat of the moment. Thank you Dalen for this interesting session.

What a beautiful resting community, not to mention the town. All towns should treat their resting areas like parks, give people a place to reflect, rest, think, that has more respect than a park. The Spanish moss on the trees is stunning. 💖💖💖grandma from Buffalo, still in snow….

This was the best episode I've seen in a long time. You brought us to a cemetery with a story in our history. About two men who couldn't resolve their issues without having to duel it out. It was interesting to hear their thoughts on the outcome. Very well done boss from one of your graveyard shifters.

Button and MacIntosh were total political rivals. First, MacIntosh had the political edge. Button had MacIntosh's brother arrested for treason, saying he wasn't pro revolution. They both hated each other. Button ordered the Florida invasion, but blamed the failure on MacIntosh. He wanted him out of leading the army. Button was also frustrated that he couldn't advance to leading the army. They were on a collision course.

Clearly Mr. Button chose not to take any responsibility for numerous deaths. Gen. was just sayin' cowboy up, dude. What frame of mind are to challenge a General. Did he ever once consider he had experience with fire arms? Thats just crazy!!! But, it was the British thing to do. Common act of the times. Kudos to the Gen. for calling him out. Do you some times wonder if people take positions in groups just for the title , attention, and popularity? And don't necessarily put in any effort to actually engage in its responsibilities? How was Mr. Button able to get this acting govenors position with out credentials in politics/combat/ general assembly? That is my red flag. Crazy, crazy, crazy. But the icing on the cake...pain and suffering to so many and these two men . Senseless. Its the proper thing to do! Yeah, history is crazy, soooo true, but we obviously haven't learned to to much from our ancestors. Thanks for the history lesson. Very interesting story, beautiful community! Kudos to the city of Savannah on their had work and dedication to such gorgeous areas all over. I'll add it to my bucket list. Lol. You showed enough to peak my intrests even farther than they were. Nice!
