My favorite part of Dallas when they are at south fork is when they are outside at the real ranch when on location in Texas. You can tell after the first 12-13 episodes of each season, they start filming back at Lorimar Studios in California.

@11a2bdestruct I wish they would have done more of the show on location at the Duncan ranch in Texas. It adds a great reality to the show. Take this scene, for example: the view of the Texas landscape during the breakfast, Jock walking past the corrals, and the bright Texas sunshine. Dallas's later years they relied too much on studio sets of oil company offices, etc. Scenes like this one show the Ewings as Texas ranchers, where they got their real start. Anyway, thx for posting this video!

@zooeyhall interiors were filmed at MGM. A replica of the pool side was also built at MGM as well. However, not all pool side scenes were filmed at MGM. But as 11a2 stated, the scenes with an overcast were most likely filmed on a soundstage. Also, another way you can determine if the pool side scenes were filmed at MGM is when someone arrives and shuts their car door, it sounds as if they are in an enclosed area like a soundstage. They are not outdoors.

When I look at The Latin Help I sometimes wonder if that inspired The Producers on The Bold & The Beautiful. Remember they had a Maid named Maria who served The Forrester Family on The Day that Ridge #1 played by Ronn Moss was getting married. Teri Linn Garr played Kristen #1 and Clayton Norcross played Thorne #1. Also, Ingo Rademacher now plays Thorne Forrester #4 who worked with Megan Markle on The Soap Opera The Young & The Restless. Also on Episode #2 they had a Houseman who was also of Latin background.

In the Pilot Episodes most notably Digger's Daughter and Spy In The House, she went on about how he'd make a great executive, he's trying his best to show he's just as good as Jock & JR and she gets upset. At least he doesn't say to her "I'm working late tonight", the many times JR Said it to Sue Ellen.

John Drake I think it was the Tokapa Lake Project. They wanted to buy some wildlife areas and build a resort. Jock was silent because he fought with Bobby the previous day over taking Ewing Oil funds to Finance his end. In addition it would cause problems with Miss Ellie as she would work with the daughters of the Alamo to stop the Tokapa development, not initially knowing that Jock was one of developers.
