As a young kid I would fall asleep to his albums on little gray CD player. My mother would always start it for me. I could not sleep without it. The sound of his angelic voice, the sound of his harmonic guitar, it all fuzed to create something so special for myself and his audience. As I became older I developed an understanding of his lyric, as I started to experience the things he had sung about. His songs provide a sense of security, knowing that Dallas can understand the things I have had to endure, even if he doesn’t know of my existence. Even still as a 16 year old, I listen to his songs to sleep on an Amazon Alexa Dot. Him and his songs will always have a place in my heart. To me he is the best, and always will be. Legends never die, and he truly is a legend in my world. His music is powerful enough to give me the courage to keep on with life. His music that was once only a lullaby to me became something that I can fully understand and cherish as I got older.

MY LORD, I envy the catalogue of music you are about to embark on with all the mixed emotions that come with it. Said emotions will never leave. I have been listening to Dallas for many years & I still feel a type of way, that no other artist can make me feel when I do. Enjoy my friend, you've found a musical genius.

@@burgesssam Chronologically from beginning to present? I would suggest picking albums randomly - you'll find the songs you can't live without pretty quickly. Dallas has evolved well musically, in my opinion, but the early stuff is still immense.

@@burgesssam I recommend checking out Alexisonfire (if you're into heavier music) and his side-project with Pink (You+Me) too! Both so great.

When Dallas Green shows up on my playlist while I'm out working in the yard or riding down the road on my bike, I feel a sense of coming home. He's brilliant, and as he ponder's what the next stage of life holds for him, I wonder if he would consider making a full length documentary on the topic of his choice with a brand new sound track of music and lyrics to bring it to life. Something that will bring us back to a time that we can all relate to. What ever you do Dallas, keep things changing and explore new roads and genres to keep things fresh.

As others have said, this was a very good interview, and not just because I'm such a big fan of City and Colour's music. This should be the textbook for how to interview a musician. Know them, care about them and their art, dig deep. So good.

I'll never forget when I met Dallas back in 2001ish and went skateboarding before his show with alexis. We chatted about gear and just life in general. Very humble dude! I think he might of played two acoustic songs at the end of the alexis show if I remember correctly. So happy to see his success over the years.

Hi! I just want to know if it is posible that I get to make a spanish translation for this video? Is there a way for doing that? I'm from Chile, lots of fans of Dallas's music here and honestly I have a lot of friends that loves him but they don't understand english and the automatic translation doesn't make sense at all, I really need them to have the pleasure of watching this interview, honestly it's the best Dallas's interview I've ever seen. Please let me know if there's a way of making the translation for the video so every spanish speaker from latinoamerica and Spain can watch it and get the whole conversation, I'd really appreciate it. P.S: Just to be 100% clear on this, I'm not pretending to do this for money, I don't want to get paid , AT ALL, I just want you to let me do this so I can enjoy this with my girlfriend, best friends and my mother who loves him since 2010! Thank you for reading me, I hope I can get a respond soon!

9:09 I think that's the conundrum Syd Barrett, Jim Morrison even Dave Chappelle found themselves in. Money and fame or integrity and humility?? (where you follow your heart/soul). As the saying goes, ‘you can’t please all of the people all of the time’...you end up trying to split hairs and second guessing EVERYTHING, every step you’ve taken
