His voice is one of the best for sure. I saw City in Colour live recently. This is very different than Alice n Chains Rain When I Die, haha. I like them both and love many different Genre's. You have your Dallas Greens and your Layne Stayley's. In fact Dallas green sang in a Heavy Canadian band before City in Colour called Alexis on Fire. Dallas will always be one of my favorite singers, and his Little Hell album got me through a very hard time in my life, and I use it whenever going through hard times.

i was lucky enough to see Dallas play the Sydney Opera House about 10 years ago. perfect setting for an artist as good as he is. guitar only and his hauntingly beautiful voice. dallas is definitely a rabbit hole to happily go down, specially his first 2 albums which are purely voice and acoustic guitar only. his album with Pink as You+Me is also brilliant, my wife walked down the aisle to the title track off that album at our wedding.

Listen to the entire album "The Love Still Held Me Near", definitely react to "meant to be" and "underground" both album and his acoustic versions. I was lucky enough to see him this past year in support of this album and what an absolute joy to see him do his thing live. I first found him when Alexisonfire randomly came on with "this could be anywhere in the world" and then randomly came across his solo project months later. This guy should be far more mainstream than he is.
@Jaschu-xs9mb5 ай бұрын
Crazy to me that soooo many sleep on this guy, Dallas Green and his band, City and Colour. Get it?...... City... Dallas. Colour...Green. lolololol :p Sadly I discovered him/them sorta late myself, I wanna say it was around 2014/15 or so, and he had originally started the band in 2005-ish with their first album called 'Sometimes'. The first time I had heard them, I was in a pretty bad spot, addicted to opiates, which I eventually was able to overcome with the help of their music. But I think back on my high school days and how much better off I would have been if I'd had such an amazing band/lyrics to listen to back in those days if I had discovered them back then. Ugh! lol. I guess he also was the clean vocalist in a metalcore band as well, way way back, like early 2000's, in Canada. They were called Alexisonfire. I've heard a handful of their songs and most definitely Dallas is the standout lol. Don't get me wrong, I dig me some metal, but yeah... Dallas Green, as always, even in his younger days, was a legitimate musical freakin genius. Again, how he isn't at the top of the charts globally is beyond me. 🤷♂ I definitively say that City and Colour are without a doubt among my top 3 musical artists/bands/what have you. And I'd be surprised if they ever leave that spot. Every single album is straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 although I wouldn't recommend them if you aren't too keen on sadder sounding songs or lyrics. Don't ask me why, but I very very much am lol. Maybe that's why I'm so damn susceptible to fuckin my life up every now and again. I'm currently about to enter inpatient rehab for the first time ever for alcohol starting tomorrow morning. Wish me luck! But yeah, point of all this is that if you are into this kinda music and you're down for checkin out something new to listen to, without a doubt, check out City and Colour. You very VERY much will not be disappointed. Awesome vid, FVM!
