This was the turning point for JR & Sue Ellen. They could have really evolved to their marriage into a happy, but still fiery one; instead of going back to the same old formula: JR sleeps around, Sue Ellen has an affair. The writers could have made them a real power couple. What a treat that would have been. Would like to have seen them have another child too. What a missed opportunity.

JR liked it. When the show first started, Sue Ellen was basically an alcoholic dishrag. But seeing her grow to his level of scheming and manipulation earned her his respect. Probably reminded him why he married her in the first place. I have the feeling JR was a rich playboy who went through MANY WOMEN. Why marry her? Hmmm...

He said why in previous episodes! It was because Sue Ellen wasn't at all like those women you mentioned! She was a Virgin when she met and married JR. She had class and sex appeal without even trying! JR. stated that all of the contestants were doing everything, trying to look sexy and Sue Ellen was just standing there not trying to look sexy and Jr. said she looked the most sexy and more beautiful then any of the other contestants!!!

J.R. and Sue Ellen of Dull us. :-) When I was a child in the 1970's and 1980's, we regularly watched Dallas on TV. And, thus gave it a nickname of 'Dull us'. Dull us instead of Dallas. If watching many episodes of Dallas, it can Dull us - it's like word play, a joke. There is also in 'Dull us' if changing the 'D' to a 'B' and saying 'Bull us' to rhyme with 'Dull us'. That would be a man's body parts, as in 'the doings and screwings of the Ewings'. :-)
