It was my first time at plantcon this year. It was amazing. I'll have to arrive earlier next year for the workshops. It's nice to have something like this in north Texas

Crossover moments- I did that same rooster painting at a painting event! Anavrin Botanicals is in my area. They are at all the local plant sales. The next one is in a month! They have the best variety, but the highest prices, so I tend to hit the smaller vendors first.

I was so impressed with the selection at the Wild Roots booth and their prices were so good too. I may need to take a road trip down there. We have been discussing a trip to the waterpark down in New Braunfels anyway…😂😂😂

They’re so worth it. You should also check out Green Gate Nursery in Seguin. It’s really not that far from WR.

I think I’m going to go film a tour of their place one day next time I’m visiting my parents since it’s not crazy far from them

Large clear pots are impossible to find, I'm definitely not paying 50 for one clear pot in Amazon

I would steer you away from DDs plants. She’s vicious if she sells you an unrooted plant & it dies, like they do. Definitely not a nice person ☹️

Ti's funny how well plants are taken care of with the right nutrients, and we don't take the same care with ourselves eating donuts and such with no nutrients, lol. Very cool plantcon, I hope to go to one some day

The variegated plant you commented on in the Anavrin Botanicals booth is a Euphorbia ammak variegata, or African Golden Candelabra. I found mine at the Home Depot earlier this summer, at an unbelievable price, $24.99; TWO large, fat ones in a pot. It was one of my top wish-list plants since I saw Claire, from Jungle Haven, unbox hers about three years ago. I was pricing them online and couldn't justify buying a bare-root plant, site unseen, at the prices being charged, upwards of $100, not including the shipping cost. I had never seen one IRL, even in a dedicated plant shop, so I feel especially lucky, almost like I stole the two that I unexpectedly found at a big box store, lol! This plant is truly stunning. Even if you don't care for thorny succulents, I think most will appreciate its limey green and yellow variegation when you see it in person.
