Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia will retire from his role and take up a new administrative position with the City of Austin. Garcia had recently reached an agreement with Garcia meant to keep him in the role until mid-2027.

He wanted the assistant city manager job for Public Safety in Dallas, but they gave it to their company man, lot less stress than being police chief, so he got the offer from Austin with the same position, so he jumped ship , do not blame him at all, less stress and more money, plus he is probably going to get a Dallas pension, along with his California police pension.....not a bad deal..........

Judd is a tyrant....no body cams, no transparency, just his narrative in press conferences. You think you want a guy like that until you start getting your own rights trampled on by him and his thugs; and by then it's too late.

When you can't steer/course correct a big ship out of trouble when it's going to sink, then you get off. Dallas has been going down hill steadily for about 7 years. I've lived here 50 years.

Dallas isn't that bad. I'm born and raised here myself. Oak Cliff to be exact. In my opinion, we have one of the best police forces in the country.

Wow not a shocker. He was going to quit months ago let’s not forget he got a raise and decided to stay here. He should of been fired along time ago. Crime in Dallas has increased. He can take all the Venezuelans as well

@@adonisvictorious3649 have you not see the high increase on auto theft in Dallas. Last time I checked that’s a crime. Have you not seen how many drunk driver killings there have been- that’s also a crime. You must not really know your facts. Come correct or get corrected!!

There so much crime in Dallas streets that don’t get reported because DPD cops are too lazy to take reports and take their sweet time responding to calls cherry picking easy calls to handle. Garcia turned a blind eye on internal problems within DPD. So stop playing yourself. Civilians has to put themselves in harms way to deal with crime because they have to wait for officers to arrive.

What made him a great chief? What did he do to improve the quality of life for the people in Dallas? Has he improved on the response times of cops getting to 911 calls? Why do the people of Dallas have to handle crime until DPD units arrive?! Tell me how great since slice bread was Garcia is again
