You could always tell when Sue Ellen was up to something she had that phony little Southern voice and always made herself sound so noble. Somethings she learned from JR no doubt

Sue Ellen remains my favorite Dallas character. Linda Gray is a beautiful, classy woman to this day!!

@@seand2711 Nope, her hair looked like a football helmet as they say. It aged her. Which made the Peter plot less believable. She was gorgeous with longer hair and looked younger with longer hair for some reason.

I now find humor in watching SueEllen deal with her lovers phone calls to the house. She had a few callas like this. She hung up so abruptly, I laughed. “No, I can’t. GOODBYE”. The biggest tragedy of this call is that we never found out what ever came of “Loraine”. 🤣

Did she ever exist Jr probably found out and called Sue Ellen out on her turf that she was involved with another man.

Peters hair was fairly short here compared to a few episodes later when he invited sue Ellen to his apartment and his hair looked like a longer Luke Skywalker haircut slash surfer boy.

Sue Ellen is the sexiest most beautiful woman out there. Absolutely wonderful character!

I agree - i think suellen had a sultry kind of beauty and i can why a man would want her and in some of the early episodes she looked great in a swimsuit

How many times did SE take her earrings off & on to talk on the phone? She did it often during the early seasons, esp when talking to one of her lovers...lol.
@darrylskylar87573 жыл бұрын
Most actresses did that during that time period because they were sharing clip-on earrings and clip-ons were more hygienic when sharing with others.

@@darrylskylar8757 I always thought it was just for easy on/off, to use the phone, lol. Didn't think about sharing with other actresses. Good point.

Sue Ellen's journey in Dallas is unique. None other character in the show has evolved the way Sue Ellen has. From "Digger's Daughter" to "Conundrum" (and even in the TNT reboot), JR remained ole JR to the end, so did Bobby or Miss Elie or Lucy or anybody else. Sue Ellen is something else. This poor ex-Miss Texas, who was doomed to be that quiet and ectoplasmic wife of a rich jerk till death do them part, proved to be stronger than anybody in Texas could have expected her to be (audience first). The actress herself was only supporting cast. To be honest, Sue Ellen's part was thin, until she behaved as a drunk (but fully dressed) Lady Godiva in the fifth and last episode of what is now called the "first season". But she grew on us. Very quickly. Linda Gray's talent made it happen, for sure. She proved to be concerned by her character and often voiced out her opinion about SE's fate. The lonely and despised housewife and stepdaughter became a powerfull buisnesswoman. She's one of the most fascinating human being of 80's tv...

That was the one story line I did not like, Peter Richards lusting after Sue Ellen and using his job status to do it. It was like a little boy lusting after a woman he had a crush on.
