The Dallas Winds perform at the 75th Midwest Clinic, Chicago, Illinois on December 16, 2021. Jerry Junkin, conductor & artistic director. Featuring the Epoch Percussion Quartet and trumpet soloists Jens Lindemann, Michael Martin, and José Sibaja. Guest conductor Frank Ticheli conducts the world premiere of his composition BASH, commissioned for this Midwest Clinic.

Sport on intonation! The fanfare shows everything... and there are no ensemble problems to show. Wow! Looking forward to hearing the rest of the concert. Dead concert hall though. I think the dead hall has contributed to the lack of low brass sound in the recording. The low brass section is loaded with monster players and I just can't hear them here. But what terrific a band this is on stage!

I agree with you on all points. The Midwest performance halls seem pretty dry, at least in person. Like the sound gets sucked right up. The exhibit halls, though -- it's always nice and boomy in there!

I would love to sit in with the group at a practice; as I've been playing trombone for 55 years and most on bass trombone. What a treat that would be I just need to drive a short distance from Arizona to Texas.
