My family moved to Dallas in 1980. I was 9 and this show made it cool to my friends that i was moving there and that helped my sadness of leaving them. Im watching the series now and it's so fun to see Dallas the way I remember it and see how different it looks now.

Being born in 1979 I was a child of the 80s and a chunk of that childhood is occupied by memories of every Friday night that theme playing through our house. Whenever I hear it to this day it always brings a smile to my face as I remember good times and a very happy childhood.

Never In a million years did I ever think I’d get hooked on a prime time soap. When Soapnet began to show ‘Dallas’ in 2003, my ex girlfriend was watching this. Because we only had one tv at the time, I had no choice but to watch what she was watching. The first episode I saw was about Julie Grey(Tina Louise) falling off the roof of her apartment building. I was curious to see what would happen next, so naturally I got hooked like most people & tuned in everyday

What's so amazing is that the Oneoff/Spinoff Dallas was created "After" Knots Landing. After the success of The Waltons & Eight Is Enough they wrote Knots Landing but it wasn't broadcasted on TV at first. Dallas becomes a Hit and they decide to bring Knots Landing to TV and have Gary Ewing live there. The same thing happened in the 1960's. Agnes Nixon wrote for Guiding Light and Another World, then created All My Children. It was rejected by NBC then she left and created One Life To Live in 1968 and then afterwards All My Children in 1970 and the rest is history.

I always thought of Victoria Principal being the star of the show. I always thought of the conflicts between her and Larry Hagman and their characters. When Pam Ewing left, the show went downhill. I think Patrick tried to take over Pam's shoes but it didn't fan out. The formula was gone. Just remember that the pilot "Digger's Daughter," was focused on Pam and the antagonist was JR. They were the ones who made the show.
